If FIA had really ill intentions against McLaren, They would have banned McLaren designed Onboard Software system - ECU as it is called. McLaren have started 2008 campaign with head start over other teams as they know all the features of the ECU which enables their drivers to get more out the cars as compared to rest of the grid. All cars on current grid have to use Standard McLaren ECU. One e.g. RBR is still struggling to configure the ECU for smooth gear shifts. for all we know, that is reason for Ferrari struggling in wet, while macca car gets better traction and Lewis gets praised as Rain Master as a result. I don't see other teams crying foul on that.
Guys get real,no victimization here

Hamilton admits: I hate driving for points.

"Context Is Everything" !!! Does that make any sense to anyone. This reminds me of the phrase "pouring water on ducks back". Can't really help improve understanding of people who are hit with paranoia that their "favorite driver" and "favorite team" is victimized by the governing body. As much as I am against Ferrari, the macca/lewis fan-antics can't be helped. If McLaren indeed is being victimized, nobody has forced them on gun-point to compete. Have finally run out of patience with people that can't put things in "perspective" I QUIT!!!! Hope All Fanatics are happy now

Ian, everything that you have stated is cent percent accurate. read the context of my post. My point was FIA is nonprofessional and inconsistent. But as the posters before me were inclining that McLaren and Lewis are victimized thats not the case. If they had to, they wouldn't have accepted McLaren bid for ECU, while the spy saga was raging on . Having McLaren ECU means other teams are at backfoot to get best out of the system,if indeed FIA was against macca, they would have not given macca this advantage over competition. And I have given examples advantage F1/Bernie has/had with Lewis winning championship,so they will help him rather than hurt his campaign. !!Context is everything!!

Only the day when LH has troubles in qualifying and will be in mid-pack or back of grid, will HK be allowed to race, as a measure of Damage control.

Errorxp - Good observation, one slight flaw there though. Go to McLaren website and read their press releases. All races this season HK qualifies on heavier fuel load. His first pitstops are later than LH's. Effectively ensures that HK qualifies at best around 3 -5th row on grid. That effectively compromises his results, not to mention those mid-field 1st lap incidents with other drivers , screwing the "Aero" and thus his lap times. To Keep HK happy Macca every now and then praise in press his "Fuel corrected" lap times, how he was faster than Lewis "Fuel corrected". HK is hired what DC did for Hakkinen and Kimi and what Barichello did for Schumi. (contd..)

Silent Runner - 17 points lead nulled in last two races In China combination of Team stupidity (like Ferrari's last race),Combined with Driver inexperience, for someone having blazed through all Jr Formulae, its surprising to see the driver couldn't make connection between tire degradation and increasing lap times. He didn't make firm call to pit and waited till the tire was shot. And Brazil, hitting wrong button on Steering was well captured and well circulated on videos every where, thats the "crumbling" I was pointing to . Bernie did his best to get amnesty in hope "Rookie Champ" Not to mention Steward neglecting Fuji and Nurburgring gaffes? If SPA is rigging, so were these rigged races

Grumpy_D - As much as I agree that FIA is full of imbeciles and their non-professionalism and inconsistencies have brought pinnacle of motorsport to shambles. I would stop beating the dead horse of conspiracies against Lewis. More than anything Bernie would have loved him to win the championship last year hence drivers where allowed to keep their points. I have mentioned elsewhere, Rookie errors of Lewis at Fuji and Nurburg were looked the other way. But Still he crumbled last year. If they really have to plot Bernie and FIA will plot for Lewis to win. as that means lots of monies and TRP ratings. (Contd..)

No Honda F1 test for Danica Patrick.
1 agrees.

Totally Off topic - but this actually gives indication how things are in Honda F1 team All that Nick Wants in Money from his Japanese backers. But essentially the team is Brit, run by the Brits and Run for the Brits. A Test wouldn't have hurt anyone, James Rossitier and Conway got tests at honda didn't they. Honda even got Rossiter race seat in ALMS in Honda/Acura powered car. It comes to honor word given to Danica they Flip-Flop. Its high time the Tokyo based bosses of the team, review the situation and take approach like Carlos Ghosn of Renault. a) Find sponsors b) Show performance, We will fund based on performance.

F1 teams link up to bring overtaking back.
2 disagree.
Mark_ Well spotted, you are right here, posters here are basically supporters of "certain driver" and are trying to create impression as though,SPA penalty is end of the world for clean overtaking. In new world of Aero dependent cars, I have given enough examples of Drivers making spectacular overtaking moves. Albeit they were far and few to come. but they did happen. It was not as if there was Darkness all around and Messiah appeared 2007 and walked on water of overtaking. and that evil forces are out to get him down and preventing overtaking.

(contd..) of the examples I quoted, Alonso's overtake was classic if you consider the timing of the stint on which it was done. But Schumi's defence Bridgestone was struggling with Single tyre rule and Michael had tyre failures that season, so he didn't defend whole heartedly I suspect. In day of Modern Aero restrictions JPM was always a "man on fire" if the opponent in question was Schumi. Check out his passes on Michael at Spa'04,Canada'06, Brazil'01. Of course making aggressive overtakes works both ways you win some you lose some. In Spa'04 after passing Schumi at Bus Stop, JPM did botch up with Trulli on same spot. But then thats game
