Is it just me, or is that a message to Ferrari indicating that he won't roll over and support Massa's title bid.

I could see the Ferrari's tripping over each other before the year is out.

My view on Button is that he can be top class on his day in a good car, but nothing special when the car doesn't suit him (like at Renault or this year at Honda). I think his opportunity has probably passed, although many people say the '09 car will suit his style. Anyway, back on topic, I'd prefer to see Dave Richards take over at Honda. He strikes me as more of a racer and a more charismatic front man than Carlos Slim. Think he's also pair better with Ross B, and, of course, he knows his way around Brackley already. The best thing is that it's looking increasingly likely they'll will get cars on the grid.

Much as I like him, sticking HK in the 2nd Mclaren probably cost the Woking chaps a constructors championship.

It's McRAE. As for the rest of the post, I think you rather missed the point.

I think we can all appreciate the argument that a standard Cossie dents F1's claim to be at the cutting edge of technology and engineering. That said, I rather like the idea of a new F1 era where RACING teams can thrive again(like Williams, Tyrrell, Lotus, Jordan once did) and where the manufacturers cannot simply use the sport as a global marketing tool and pour hundreds of millions of dollars into engine R&D without needing to balance the books. Maybe I'm just getting old...

Simon, Not sure about the stats, but personally don't agree with you on that one. Either way, can't help thinking this is the wrong thread for a dig at Mark Webber....

Mouse - I completely agree. If KR and FM pit before LH, then it was a cracking lap.

swb - I don't think it was fair when Salo raced for Ferrari either - seem to remember him gifting a win to Irvine ! That said, to be fair to them, it has been an open fight at Ferrari all season.

rich ard, I agree about Liuzzi being no slouch - I'd like to see him back in a race seat next year, but (like Klien) I think his time has passed. I don't think that season where they shared a Red Bull helped either of them. As for Vettel, I'm with Sennaforever - for examples of over-driving, check out a few of his opening laps this year.... Have a good weekend everyone M
