well just bought myself a 2 stroke dirt bike...they don't seem to be dead to me... why did i buy a 2 stroke: less maintenance and cheaper maintenance than a 4 stroke, oh and because the engine is small i am also paying less road tax than a 4 stroke...woohoo not to mention wheelies in 4th.. shame aprilia are not producing a road registrable commemorative version of their 250 racing machines... just hope this new series can produce the same level of entertainment the 250s are giving us this year! I am going to miss the sound of those 2 strokes screaming around Philip Island!

Information that has been around for some time now that this website has not reported is Simoncelli riding an Aprilia SBK at the first round in Philip Island alongside Biaggi and Nakano. He was offered a ride on round 2 but he declined. This should speed up the development of the new bike. I would have thought this info would have been important enough to report? Is he lining himself up for a career in SBK in case Moto GP crumbles in its current format next year?

Latest news from GPone is that Gresini would relinquish one of their spare bikes to Scot for Melandri to ride. There is also talk of De Angelis moving to Scot on this spare bike and Melandri going to Gresini. Gresini and Scot would both have 2 riders and 3 bikes (1 spare each). Maybe time for Dorna to change the spare bike rule and reduce to 1 for all teams...? Good to see italian satellite teams getting their act together to give Melandri a ride. Hope Hopkins finds himself a set of wheels as well.

Reed got actively involved in making this aussie SuperX championship revival a total success! Great to see a rider give back to the sport that made him great! New race formats were tested, all the tracks designed were of US standards and specs, Jeremy McGrath even joined the fun in the 2 last rounds. Look forward to next year''s aussie SuperX with more US wild cards coming over to race the aussies!

The fallout and verbal fight was in regards to Fabrizio (managed by Chili) hitting Biaggi yet again in a race (twice in 2008). Chili felt he had to defend Fabrizio and let Biaggi know he had made the mistake. You can check the footage out on utube. I kind of felt (just like the commentators on the TV coverage that I was watching) that Fabrizio did fault in this instance. Biaggi and Chili were teammates in 250s and Biaggi outperformed Chili all year round. It probably never went down too well. Will be interesting having them both in the paddock next year.

JT has obviously found an excuse for his poor performance this year... He had better outperform Colin next year or he should be out from MotoGP in 2010 and take his team politics along with him....and Simoncelli will take his place! Never heard of teams changing crew chiefs around without prior consultation with BOTH riders!
