Spies is good, but so is the Yamaha.

Does this hype also mean Leon Camier will be on the other Tech3 next season? He's had a better success rate than Spies this season after all. No, of course he won't.

If he can adapt to MotoGP and find the right bike he might emulate Colin Edwards' transition from WSBK to GP. Nicky Hayden skipped WSBK but was perhaps young enough to 'relearn' a riding style. It still took him a few years to be any good and he had the best bike at the time.

It's proven that the best MotoGP riders all come up through the 125 and 250 categories. Whether it's the style and setup, or just being part of the circus year-on-year, these guys will win over SBK graduates.

IMO.

Assuming he doesn't drop it, Simoncelli will be highest. Hector Barbera is the better rider though IMO.

I thought Scott Redding was due out on a Moto2 bike this test?

Has he ridden Valencia before? It's not on the WSBK calendar. I think he'll probably have a promising but uneventful weekend. Setup, unfamiliarity and the fact there's still a big fight for 6th, 7th in the championship means he might tick along getting track time. Will he be on a full factory bike though?? Good luck to him, I think he'll do pretty well next season.

I don't know if this is the first 'official' announcement. I think Jules Cluzel is on one of the Tech3 Moto2 bikes next year isn't he? Cardion AB have a bike so Karel Abraham will be on that, Pramac have 2 bikes, one of which will probably have Mattia Pasini on if his Pramac Ducati test mid-season is anything to go by. As for Bradley, he'd be better walking into the 2011 season of Moto2 as 125 Champion. He'd get a better bike first up. I think Scott Redding might get a ride in 2010, as he's a giant of a boy for 125 but he'll not be on the Blusens BQR bike as they aren't entering until 2011.

It's good that there' a full grid this year, next year I assume the demand will be up still as the best chassis manufacturer will come to the fore.

@rockingrodders - I appreciate that, but there is an Aprilia team in there, and MZ are on reserve. Tech3 (Yamaha) and Pramac (Ducati) have associations with other manufacturers atm too. It's a given that they all have Honda engines, but a KTM built bike that wins might help them promote a 600cc machine themselves in a popular worldwide sales category. I would expect that the rumoured builders like Harris, Bimota, Ilmor, Roberts, Moriwaki are in it for future sales somewhere (as well as bragging rights :p). As an aside which I hope you agree with, it's a travesty that it's only a Honda engine allowed. Perhaps they're slipping Dorna more cash than Aprilia now? Shocking.

Ditto most of the above - it's a shame they've pulled out. It's good to mix it up. I'm guessing that behind the scenes a deal has been done to take Marc Marquez to an Aprilia/Derbi ride and they don't have anyone to replace him. Or the money to pay a good rider to finish 5th or later. It's always the money. I'm surprised they haven't put in for a Moto2 ride next year. Everyone else has.

Good luck to him - nice guy. WSS is a good place to be now as it gives options for WSBK and now Moto2 too. They should get him back in the Eurosport commentary box for a chat soon as well.

I was at the '93 GP and it was a cracking race. Apart from the big crash at the esses which took mixed it up early, it looked like Carl Fogarty on a wildcard factory Cagiva ride would finish on the podium and go a long way to getting him a coveted permanent GP ride and proving he had what it takes. As it turned out he had a problem with tyres (or fuel maybe?) and came in 4th. In many ways MacKenzie's ride was the better one as he was on an inferior bike but had the pace to bring it home. I suspect it's at least in his top 3 career moments too. The crowd went mental at the pair of them. The other abiding memory is watching the sidecar race. Superb. :)
