WSBK » Schwantz: Sky the limit for Spies.

Spies is good, but so is the Yamaha. Does this hype also mean Leon Camier will be on the other Tech3 next season? He's had a better success rate than Spies this season after all. No, of course he won't. If he can adapt to MotoGP and find the right bike he might emulate Colin Edwards' transition from WSBK to GP. Nicky Hayden skipped WSBK but was perhaps young enough to 'relearn' a riding style. It still took him a few years to be any good and he had the best bike at the time. It's proven that the best MotoGP riders all come up through the 125 and 250 categories. Whether it's the style and setup, or just being part of the circus year-on-year, these guys will win over SBK graduates. IMO.

MotoGP » Donington Park MotoGP: 1987-2008.

I was at the '93 GP and it was a cracking race. Apart from the big crash at the esses which took mixed it up early, it looked like Carl Fogarty on a wildcard factory Cagiva ride would finish on the podium and go a long way to getting him a coveted permanent GP ride and proving he had what it takes. As it turned out he had a problem with tyres (or fuel maybe?) and came in 4th. In many ways MacKenzie's ride was the better one as he was on an inferior bike but had the pace to bring it home. I suspect it's at least in his top 3 career moments too. The crowd went mental at the pair of them. The other abiding memory is watching the sidecar race. Superb. :)

MotoGP » Kallio: Not as bad as it looks!

Pics or it didn't happen. Kallio has been the man of the season for me. All this voting for the top three or four riders is rubbish, they're expected to be there. He's riding quickly and relatively consistently in his first season on a bike that seemingly no one else with plenty more experience can gets to grips with or set up. Kudos, I hope he gets a ride in MotoGP for many years.

MotoGP » Sete Gibernau shocked as team quits MotoGP.

I'm guessing Mr Martinez 'Aspar' has been on the phone to Dorna etc saying he'll prop up the MotoGP class for the right funding allowances/costs etc. Assuming he can take over the Ducati Hernando team for the rest of the season. I doubt he'd have Sete riding though, but who else would he have? He's got plenty of riders, just needs to pick the one with the most similar style to Casey. I'd love to see Chaz Davies back in MotoGP :) (come back Chaz, all is forgiven!). Failing that, I hear Matt Hoyle might be looking for a new ride :p Aspar will be on the MotoGP grid next year anyway, no doubt with the golden boy Bautista on board.

MotoGP » MotoGP rookies banned from factory teams.

I think this might actually be the most sensible idea to come from the FIM in a while. It certainly appears to serve to keep other teams in the championship and, more importantly, in the money. But will it start turning the MotoGP class into some sort of 'NFL Draft' where the little teams get the good riders but have tie-ins and agreements with the factories to take them after a in exchange for factory support etc.
