Is that a really fair comparison?" no but neither is comparing a Rookie on a sat machine (JT) to a rookie on the best factory bike on the grid with the greatest teammate (hayden/repsol/rossi) but as you said earlier the facts are the facts. JT beat edwards in his first year as arookie Sat Vs Factory Fact... you contradict yourself from facts are facts to justifying his position. But I am not starting a flamebait or defending JT (i am not a fan) but all i am saying is he has not performed as well as expected but imop deserves another year in GP (maybe not on the tech 3 though). as you say others have been worse & stay'd

to be fair though Rawdawg Hayden has had a charmed life in GP always on FULL factory bikes from the get go. So not really fair to compare him to JT (who nearly grabbed pole in his first ever GP... which seems so long ago and like a differant guy now). Hayden is a good rider as is JT and yes they are both not GREAT riders but only the top 4 are on the grid, everyone else is just slot fillers according to most of the logic banded around on these forums. Hayden has turned his year around on the duke with his never give-up attidude and i am surprised and impressed by him (not that he will care) but in the same token JT has tried & tried & never given up, I think a team change wud do well

@ Ron everyone agrees JT has not performed well this year, but in the great scheme of things alot of people have not or had not in previous years. A change of bike/team may do him good, there seems to be a reluctance from Tech 3 and Yamaha to 'call it a day' with JT?? don't know why but maybe the leased Engine with Hayate has his name on it?? who knows. He does deserve another chance just for the fact that (as has been pointed out) other like Hayden/Vermulan/Elias/Hopper/Depuniet (who until this year has NEVER really shown greatness) hell even edwards has not really justfied 9 years with no wins even Sete was out of top class by then with his results!! go figure!!

..cont realisticly never beat so he CAN only be 5 or 6th at best. JT results in 08 where pretty good with 10 top 10 finishes (inc the comical 6 6th places). He has already made 9 top 10's this year if he finishes in the top 10 in the next 4 races he will have equaled Edwards top 10's in his second season!!! I know everthing is relative and on this year JT HAS NOT preformed where he should have done but I think with JT seeming to be the most hated guy on the grid (mostly self doing from the crew cheif swap) he is getting harsh treatment. Hell Hayden has been resigned and uptil Laguna 8 races in his best result was 8th on a factory bike (same kalio) JT had got 6,7 by then!!!

just some facts for all the JT haters, Colin edwards first year in GP ona FACTORY aprilia (I know a poor bike but) his best result was...6th in the first race of japan he then only finishd inside the top 10 another 6 times out of 16 races. JT easily beat this in his first year. In 04 as Sete's teammate on a 990 (much better suited to a superbike rider than a 800) on which sete won 4 races and 6 further podiums colin managed 2 seconds (very good! at Qatar and Donny 2 tracks he as always been good at). But outside of this he finished as follows (7,7,5,12,5,6,6,5,7,9,dnf,11,4,8) this left colin 5th but he only had Rossi and sete who were above everyone else. JT has 4-5 people he will cont..

Everyone forgets Danni changed last year mid-season from MC to BS, he could have stuck on the MC, this helped little as in the end they used a standard tyre based on the Rossi/Stoner choices but he changed non the less. people forget this could be also to do with Danni NOT signing a deal with Honda for next year yet, so why would they risk showing their hand to a possible (albit small chance) competitor on the Duke next year!! Honda may have made this choice NOT danni!!!

Shame for the lad, as I am growing to like him and I Love his pure skill riding style, I hope he gets well soon. He WILL be replaced by Kalio this weekend and Kalio will be replaced by Fabrizio for Brno and Indy but he wont make misano (if casey is still not back) because of SBK's. Fabrizio was rang this morning and even though his manager (Tardozzi) said he shouln't go michael is going with "No Pressure and to have Fun". I think Hayden best be good here as Kalio has made his distain of nicky very clear and will looking to beat him on equal machinery... i personnly would have liked to see Sete get the ride and see what he could of done with equal machinery unlike his bike this year!

Not De-Bon I meant Barbera!!! Also heard that Nicky AND Colin AND Caparossi are all rumoured to be signed or close to signed to stay where they are!! and Randy could take JT's seat at Tech 3!!!!???!! JT on the Suzuki??? heard it hear first!!

Aoyama WILL be in GP next year the scot team MAY not be there but Honda are supplying 2 more Honda's next year and Suter will (dependant on an anouncment in September) with a new bike so there will 4 more seats from this. Telefonica are rumoured to be the sponser for Aspar but they may be a sponser for one of the other Honda's (of which is most likely destined for Aoyama). The Telefonica/Honda deal has either Dani/Jorge or Bautista's name on it. And if Bautista does not take the Duke De-bon or Elias will have it (de-bon brings sponser/cash so most likely over elias). We could see 20-21 bikes next year??? here is hoping!!
