Wow, people really get upset when the racers speak their minds. All I saw in this was that JT has the wrong mentality. "It was an honour to race against Valentino"?? He's never going to beat him with that attitude. He's got to believe he's the best if he going to win.

As for Dovi, he can complain all he wants if he keeps riding like he has been this year, and on sunday. The kid is awesome, pulled some great overtakes and is so entertaining. JT was awesome as well, and really impressed me in that race. But like I said, there's no gain from idolising any opponend when you are trying to beat him all year long.

I thought it was 4 corners (lol, u know the pun Aus). What a race! Haga and Bayliss so awesome! I feel privileged to have watched it. Would have been so perfect if Bayliss had won, but anyway, thems the brakes  And how about Soluoglu''s Honda after the crash? Front fairing completely split in half! I can''t believe only 2 riders got caught up in it, could have been so bad.

So now you are defending other riders besides Rossi Saran Dknobhead? I thought that the rest of the field were all crap and should go home to their respective mothers and cry? I'm sure the rider is so overwhelmingly important that if you were in charge of Rossi's or gorgeous jorge's team then they would still get podiums? Teams stuff up too you know, and JT is in a completely new, satellite one.

huh, i'd always suspected that people who ride generally don't slag off riders so much. Even on the net where it's easy to be a C$Unt. Millionaire or not, pain is pain.

How can you win if you don't expect to? Being happy with second won't get you a championship, just ask Sete.

You mean 10-way battle DC :) When Suzuki and Kawasaki get their new parts from Santa Claus! Let's hope Melandri actually does know how to develop a bike.

I thought the article really brought to light how much compromise there really is in the design of each bike. They must be a lot different to ride, which would explain why Melandri hasn't been able to manage on the Duc. I think it highlights how good both Rossi and Stoner are at development. With so many possible variables to tinker with, if they couldn't explain exactly what they felt, then the engineers would be stuffed. You're right that a journo can't tell 'exactly' how good each bike is at the maximum, but I'm sure he got a pretty good idea. Especially since he got to chat with the designers.

@ waz up??, did you read the sportrider article that someone referred to earlier. It is about the 2007 bikes, but it generally talks about the relative strengths and weaknesses of each and the direction taken by each manufacturer. Prob the best article I've read on the subject of motoGP bikes it's here if u genuinely want to understand. If not, happy posting. wimmywammy dot sportrider.com/features/146_0804_motogp_ducati_yamaha_honda/index (dot) html

Well said Rico, Biaggi is gold to watch. Him and Bayliss have given us some EPIC races in WSBK the last 2 years. He's one of those riders that everyone else wants to beat, so having him around just brings out better racing. He's also a great benchmark for how good other guys are too. If you beat Biaggi when he's on song, that's about as good a ride as you can get. But he doesn't need to come back to MotoGP for the same reason any old guy shouldn't come back: Motivation and Crazyness. IMHO Simoncelli or Barbera would be great substitutes for Biaggi.
