So, Prince Harry was there at the race. Then why oh why wasn't he presenting the trophies? Sorry to sound jingoistic, but it was the British GP and we had a Spanish bloke presenting the winning riders their trophies. Is interest in the sport in this country so poor that we can't even have a Brit presenting the winning trophies.
We don't get the French Prime Minister handing out the Wimbledon trophies, so why should we suffer the embarrassment of a foreigner presenting the trophies at our own GP.

MotoGP on British Eurosport in 2010.
5 agree.
Cutting off coverage completely just as Rossi is crowned the new world champion. Would you have seen them do that to Jensen Button just as he's about to pop the cork on the champagne, I don't think so. Giving the sport practically zero promotion and then harping on about how "committed" they are, what complete and utter dogs testes. Why don't they just admit they have no interest in the sport and made a mistake taking live coverage away from someone who actually gives a toss and keeping it to themselves when they couldn't give a monkeys and see the sport as an annoyance and an inconvenience at best. The only downside to Eurosport is Toby can let his F1 bias show from time to time.

MotoGP on British Eurosport in 2010.
I find it very hard indeed to figure out how anyone could defend the BBC's poor coverage. Yes, they have starting grid interviews before the race, where you'll see Suzie fawn over JT, Colin and Mr Burgess without asking any insightful questions all thw while batting her eyes at them. Cocks and Parrish are hopeless, well done, you used to be Barry Sheenes team mate, and how many races did you actually win during your time in MotoGP? Not as many as a certain Mr Mamola I can bet. Matt Roberts is the only saving grace the BBC has, he's been there for years and knows what he's talking about, which is something new for the BBC. Switching channels half way through a race...

BBC explains Sepang MotoGP coverage
2 agree.
Now if they have failed to meet set standards, which, let's face it, any standards no matter how low would be higher than the BBC have dished out this year, then Dorna should tear up the contract or at the very least demand the BBC up their game and put them on probation. Any more of the lack lustre substandard quality televising and their contract will be null and void at the end of the season. They keep harping on about being committed and real life bike fans themselves. How on earth would any self respecting real life bike fan try and defend the indefensible. It's not a crime to admit you're wrong. Moreover, you'd get more respect if you actually did come out and say sorry, we're rubbish!

BBC explains Sepang MotoGP coverage
5 agree.
All their pathetic pre season attempts to reassure us they were "totally committed" to MotoGP. If this is their idea of "totally committed" then I'd hate to see how they treat something they don't give a monkey's about. The original reason that Eurosport lost live rights was because of it's Eurosport Player that came into direct competition with MotoGP's own version on their website. So the BBC didn't "win" a bidding war as much as they were given the exclusive rights as there was no other competition bidding. However, the contract must have some stipulations about the quality of the programming broadcast and the BBC's just can not possibly meet even the lowest of standards. ..

Official: Ben Spies to MotoGP in 2010.
4 agree.
1 disagrees.
As a Toseland fan and a Brit I really wanted JT to do well in MotoGP. I'm not blinkered enough to ignore the fact he just hasn't performed this season. Continually pootling round in 12th or 13th is not good enough when your team mate is beating you by at least 5 positions at pretty much every race. I wish Ben all the luck for next year as he's now racing against the very elite and one could argue almost untouchable top 4. I can see Yamaha thinking ahead here. Give Lorenzo a 1 year contract then if he spits his dummy out again next season you've got Spies to replace him if he's proven himself and will have a full season under his belt so wont be victim of the rookie rule.

I just hope he doesn't mistake Spies or Haga for Bautista and punt one of them off into the kitty litter.

Great news for Marco. He deserves it after his performances on the black Kawasaki this year. I too hope he gets full factory support from HRC.

MotoGP releases TV viewing figures.
5 agree.
A highlights show would be a great idea. It would also negate the need for the presenters to dumb down everything during race coverage as they could use the highlight show to gently introduce people to the finer points of MotoGP. Also, imagine how many more viewers it might have had if it had got any promotion at all from the BBC. Why they don't promote it is a complete mystery. As for Cox! Just get rid of him. I don't care if he's contracted for another 5 years, pay him off and send him back to Australia. He single handedly ruins every single race coverage with his inept pointless jokes and awful analysis.

Just as the BMW is starting to show some real potential too. At least he has more than a week to try and get back to fitness. Get well soon Ruben.

Fabrizio: My fault, I need to stay calmer
1 agrees.
1 disagrees.
Maybe he'll learn from this mistake as it will have undoubtably made him highly unpopular in the paddock with just about everyone, probably even his team mate. I would imagine Nori would like to win because of hiw own skill as a rider and not because of the misfortune of his nearest rival. Pedrosa made the same mistake, if not worse, when he catapulted Hayden in 06. He was just fortunate it didn't affect the title outcome in the end. Regarding fighting for the title, a few more DNF's from Spies, which he has done more than once this season and Nori not getting back to full fitness could well mean Fabrizio really fighting for it if his results stay consistent.
