MotoGP » MotoGP Malaysia - Free Practice (3) Results

Rossi looks like he is in trouble with Lorenzo being so far in front. I'm not sure if Rossi was using the hard rear tyre for most of that session, couldn't really tell. When he put a new medium rear tyre in the back he was dodling around waiting for Marquez to pass, which means his tyres would't have been up-to-temperature at the start of the lap and at the end he was caught behind Espargaro. He may have gotten close to Lorenzo because he was 1 tenth back of Lorenzo before the last 5 minutes but who knows. Rossi looked flustered that session, although Rossi's ideal lap time is only 3 tenths back from Lorenzo. My conclusion is unfortunately to all us Rossi fans is that Lorenzo will be champion due to him looking like he's the faster and he looks like at this moment he has a clearer mind.

MotoGP » Lorenzo under pole record to top FP3

Looks like Marquez is ready to torment Rossi and this will swing the championship in Lorenzo's favour, Rossi now has too much to think about, not only the championship but also Marquez. Rossi was only 1 tenth faster than his previous fastest lap that was set earlier in the session (not sure if it was on used mediums or hard tyres) and his ideal lap time was 3 tenths slower than Lorenzo's. I'm not sure if he's on Lorenzo's pace but with all that carry on with Marquez at the end of the out lap would have meant his tyres weren't up to speed during the start of his final run and he got caught behind Espargaro at the end and lost more time. Lorenzo is looking like he is in the pound seat and it's going to tai possibly a miracle by Rossi to stop him.
