WSBK » Spies: I blew it in the last section

Lets be honest. Finishing 2nd in Superpole is clearly an indication that Spies is washed up and well past his prime. For some time now he has been on the verge of retiring from competitive racing and this is simply a confirmation of something we all knew anyways. Should we be surprised by this? of course not, the writing has been on the wall for some time now. Lets just wish him well that he is able to end his long career on the world stage with some semblance of dignity thus making way for other far more talented riders that he's clearly been holding up for years if not decades. Best wishes as you go into that long good night Ben!

MotoGP » Bridgestone pleased to see lap records fall.

"...although if lap records continue to be broken the company might soon be asked to reduce grip levels to help contain cornering speeds" How about NO!!!! Seriously, F*ck that and the the idiot who thought up that idea. Wondering why? It's pretty obvious actually. I want Bridgestone (and every other tire co.) to build the best damn tire they can. Once they've accomplished that I want them to build a better one, and then an even better one. I want the best damn tire to be created who's technology will trickle down to the club racer (aka me) that will allow me to ride upsidedown safely if needed. Having a single tire rule I can live with. Curtailing development altogether? F*CK THAT!

MotoGP » Edwards 'has Tech 3 offer', Toseland options.

"where does spies feature? Rossi, Stoner, Pedrosa, Lorenzo, Dovi. Spies is only going to beat these if they crash or rain comes into play. Is he better than Hayden, Melandri, Kalio, Capi, De Puniet, Edwards. Perhaps in the odd race maybe, over the whole season i doubt it. Add Bautista, Simoncelli, Barbera, possibly De Angelis and Elias and where do you really see Spies." I find this very amusing because the exact same things were said of him when he entered WSB. Remember Whitim and Burnicle's comments early on? "We knew he was good, we just hoped he wasn't 'that' good". Do I expect him to win out of the gate? No. Do I expect him to be competitive off the get go? Yup.

So first lets state the obvious. Ending up on a WSB Factory Yamaha ride is certainly not the worst thing that could ever happen to some one, JT included. He could continue to do his piano thing and would arguably be on the bike which is the class of the field. I would also argue that competition has stiffened up since he departed SBK so being crowned champ is anything but a given for JT imho. As many have stated, myself included, If The Ben does end up taking the title in his rookie year on a new bike, tracks he's never seen and were it not for mechanicals in an utterly dominating/class of the field manner that he's done, How can you not give him a MotoGP ride? Seriously.

WSBK » Ben Spies: WSBK in 2010, MotoGP in 2011

Yeah, like others have stated, I as well stand by my original claim that staying in SBK for next year will frankly be ridiculous and even more one-sided than this year. That having been said, Mary Spies is indeed one tough cookie, she didn't bend when Rizla Suzuki didn't take her son seriously and they paid the price. My suspicion is that she must have gotten a major pay check for her son and an iron clad agreement for 2011 that Ben will have a factory ride in satellite clothing with all the trimmings. Be it through Tech3 or a one off satellite team or whatever. I still say it's unfortunate that he didn't go this year and next year is simply going to be silly to watch. We'll see I suppose

WSBK » Ben Spies: WSBK in 2010, MotoGP in 2011

Yay!!! Not... Yeah, like El Baloney said I don't get this one at all. Here's what's going to happen. Ben is going to likely win the current title barring mechanicals and fab torpedo'ing him again. Then, in 2010 it isn't even going to be close. Seriously, One can only assume that this being his maiden/freshman season that the working out of the bugs and other growing pains were going to take place, and they have. So next season with things more solidly in place I would expect his riding & his team to be more consistent and thus dominating. So unless some one seriously raises their game I really have no idea what the point is to dominate in 2010 in an even more one sided fashion.
