MotoGP » Smith 'proud' of lap time, disappointed with result

Stop looking at Marquez's time as a comparison, Brad was only 3/10ths off Pedrosa and Rossi. For a rookie on certainly not a factory Yamaha that is a good result. Pedrosa being 1second slower than his rookie team mate is much more of an issue of should he be on the bike. Factory Honda since 2006, never won a championship, Stoner joins and wins it, now Marquez looks like doing the same.

MotoGP » California Dreamin'

He actually made a cracking start as well, was in front of Crutchlow through turn 1, but I think he eased offbraked too early (first start at Laguna) allowing Crutchlow back through and he then got squeezed out wide at turn 2. Still doing better on points than Crutchlow in his first year at this stage and equalling Simoncelli in terms of results.

MotoGP » Smith 'in the hunt' with second row start

@pcxmac Firstly the gear driven cam engine improves cylinder head durability and overall engine reliability. In CRT you have limited engines so reliability is important. If you have an engine that already has better reliability you don't have to back it off so much to save it, you will get an increase in usable power (it might only be an increase in total power of 3-5bhp) but that's not what they want it's how quickly you get usable power that's important. And secondly what do you think the E in ECU means. They have an ECU matched to the engine, not the Dorna spec ECU that others have to use.
