MotoGP » Chassis boost for Bradley Smith

From what I heard Brad is braking too hard and too late (he's top Yamaha on speed through the speed traps), he just needs to trust the tyres, brake lighter and slightly earlier and carry more corner entry speed. It's easy to lose a tenth going into every big braking corner and before you realise it's a second gone. He just needs to trust the tyres and that always takes time with rookies, apart from Marquez who doesn't seem to care what happens under him.

MotoGP » Chassis boost for Bradley Smith

Why the moaning, his bike isn't to the same spec as Cal's (Cal's is the factory spare parts bin special). He has been asked to go quicker in each session, he does. As for Espargaro, he and the others in CRT have the benefit of the softer CRT tyres this year. I know loads of people say Scott Redding should have the ride etc, Scott is good but Brad finished above Scott in every season they raced together (125 and Moto2) with the exception of 2012, where Scott had the championship winning Kalex under him and Brad had the old Tech3 Mistral which as you can see from this year has not been improved (again). Brad has had less testing on MotoGP than the other rookies Marquez and Iannone. The team knows him and unless those bashing him are ex-championship winning MotoGP riders or team managers then frankly you know nothing other than sitting in front of your tv scratching your ****s and thinking you do.

MotoGP » Austin MotoGP, Texas - Free practice (1)

How many were present at the official test and have ridden the circuit before today - Marquez, Pedrosa, Lorenzo, Rossi, Bradl, Blake and Young. With Spies and Hayden using a Panigale on a different day. No others have done so, so today is their first experience. They will all reduce their times as this is only FP1 but some will reduce it by a greater margin.

F1 » Whitmarsh: McLaren 'working tirelessly' on MP4-28

I agree with the comments about playing down chances. The last thing anyone wants to do is say they are going to win, because if they don't they look silly. It's all about managing expectations, say you are not going to win, then win it's a big confidence boost. Same with all teams. Really they do have to drop the corporate "trying to understand the car" comments though as that just makes them sound stupid, you want to really understand the car, then ask your employees who designed it I'm sure they can tell you. That's what it sounds like to me, of course it's all about how it works on track, a better way of saying it would be "we are still trying to find the sweet spot in the setup, it's there and when we get it we'll know where we can go with development and setup changes".

F1 » Caterham 'let Kovalainen down'

No Kovalainen let Kovalainen down, the arrogance of "I'm not going to chase any sponsorship because I'm not a pay driver". He should have a word with Alonso and ask him how much sponsorship money he brings to Ferrari. Then with hindsight and along with the current financial climate decided that attitude was probably the wrong one to take.

F1 » McLaren unveil new MP4-28 for 2013

If last years car was aerodynamically efficient and they can't make huge aero changes because of rules then it will look the same, the big difference will be under the skin with systems being redesigned, repackaged and placed differently. What did people expect six wheels, batman wings and a enclosed cockpit?
