MotoGP » Abraham, Cardion join CRT class for MotoGP 2013

Considering (for some bizarre reason) the rules say manufacturers can only supply a maximum of 4 bikes (2 factory, 2 customer) they had to go to CRT as soon as Pramac got the Ducati Jnr deal. So there will only ever be 12 prototypes in 2013 unless another manufacturer comes in. This odd rule was put in place to stop one manufacturer dominating with the most bikes but what it is doing is limiting prototypes and killing the series. CRTs don't help as they are off the pace. They really should go back to prototype engines and any chassis (factories can run their own bikes) but chassis makers like FTR, Kalex, Suter etc can supply chassis to customers who buy off the shelf Honda, Yamaha, Ducati etc engines. But to keep it fair, level and affordable a standard ECU and electronics package must be set.

BSB » Smrz 'very excited' by BSB switch

Aitchison did get it moving at Cadwell in qualifying and race 1 before his off. I heard Derek Redmond say they have got Smrz's setup for Assen from his Aprilia from 2 years back (1st half of 2010 when PATA had a Aprilia) to put on the bike. That'll either work or screw it up if the current bike is significantly different to the WSBK spec from 2 years ago.

F1 » Lotus admits double DRS shelved 'til Suzuka

It's banned for 2013 so I really don't see the need to still work on it, apparently have it ready but keep postponing it. Use it ASAP or don't. Using it in a race when it's not working properly will get more useful data to fix problems than any Friday morning session. I'm sure it'll get delayed again. Unless of course it's all wind and pish.
