WSBK » Sykes critical of van der Mark pass in race one

re: "The move was too agressive." I'm going to allow it. look, everybody gets 1 "freebie". now if I caught him doing that repeatedly throughout the weekend...? that would be different. tom wouldn't have even gotten the chance to say anything, VDM would've had my BOOT in his a$$ long before grinner got the words out. if it's any consolation, VDM got it wrong at the bottom of lukey in race 2 and took a digger, so maybe karma gave him what was coming to him...? that's one way of looking it for those who fancy paying attention. sleep well tom, you're objection is noted, it's now a matter of public record should mike exhibit the behaviour again.

MotoGP » Espargaro 'very, very happy' with Suzuki strides

re: "Espargaro shaved one second off his previous best lap on the Suzuki at the Malaysian circuit and says he could have lapped even quicker had it not been for a few errors as he attempted a fast lap." good, it sounds like NOT having an abundance of horsepower is the best thing that could've happen to you guys. (well, OTHER than sorting reliability) why...? 'cause if forces a rider (and teams) to hone techniques and develop muscle memory when one knows they don't have a "horsepower crutch" to fall back on. everything inch perfect, or you're going BACKWARDS.

WSBK » Sykes critical of van der Mark pass in race one

after reviewing the tape. VDM was on a flyer. he had actually set fastest lap just before that so he had his tail up. and considering PI have acknowledged the nature of Doohan and designed the outside with PLENTY of high speed runoff, I keep with my original ruling that there was no threat, there was no "undue jeopardy". they were both drag racing and testing to see who could hold throttle the longest, but at the end of the day Mike had the inside. whether he chooses to bend it in earlier or not it's his call so "racing incident". sorry Tom. (note grinner, you may just wanna work on getting your head around phillip island...? honestly, I'm baffled (and I don't baffle easy) that you don't like a classic circuit that everybody in the ASBK, WSBK, and GP paddocks seem to LOVE. that's almost like someone not liking Assen...? just sayin' bro, it's weird)

MotoGP » Michelin cite grip balance for Sepang falls

re: "people who expect to be on the same level with Bridgestone is foolish" people who expect to be on the same level with Bridgestone are laymen. I think we're going to find, that all the existing lap records are going to remain intact for at least the next 5-10 years (if not forever). I really want to say 10-20...? but I wish to give Michelin some credit. they shoe'd the VEYRON ferrissakes. however, we've seen this movie. we already had 17" tires and there was a reason they evolved to 16/5 (and even 16" at one point). more tyre ='s more GRIP. conversely, less tyre ='s less grip. particularly so when trying to channel the same 250 brake hp through them unabated.

MotoGP » Dovizioso: GP15 ready to race in Qatar

re: "damn shame ducati haven't got a test rider of Hondas capabilities" I wouldn't sweat that. only someone "baby young" to grandprix would think that stoner's association matters. stoner playing test rider is a relatively NEW phenomena for HRC. bikes like the 213 (and the V5 211, and NSR before that) had already long been sorted by Japanese test riders (think Okada) in the controlled environment of Motegi well before they ever started employing us "round eyes". since historically they've never needed it, as far as I'm concerned, the use of Stoner for testing in the past 2 years is equally for marketing benefits. someone in Japan recognized his status a "controversial figure" and said hey, lets use that to dupe the unsuspecting masses. admittedly a very "western" approach for a Japanese company, but fairplay.
