F1 » Ferrari boss calls for F1 ‘revolution’ to win back fans

re: "you cant stop progress" correct, but if you're intelligent enough to MAKE the progress in the first damn place...? logic dictates you also possess intelligence enough to stop for a moment and reflect on how this "progress" fits into the BIG picture. progress is but a single "scene" in the epic known as F1, and we've seen this movie. wait, that's just MY logic/MY intelligence not theirs, sorry. :(

here we go again with the "all or nothing" thought processes. the answer is NOT throwing the baby out and bringing back V10's wholesale. in fact, I've already given the answer. it's keep the turbos and put a few (not all ferchrissakes) of the most recent spec V8's in the hands of the least funded... the hands of the 4-5 struggling teams who everyone EXPECTS to just sit at the BOTTOM of the points season after season (and be happy) as though it's their lot in life, wtf...? Mallya and the others are not in F1 to be "factory foot stools" their entire existence. now specifically, when I first mentioned this idea (workable) of a "few good V8's" back last year at Melbourne, I sure as hell don't mean any rigged kit supplied by the OEM's...? I'm talking the INDEPENDENTLY produced, 20K RPM, 2.4L, Cosworth "CA". there's worse things Bernie could do than ring Northampton with checkbook in hand. if the zeros are right, Kalkhoven will take your money.

re: "that would further exacerbate the problem" that would MITIGATE the problem. that kit's gone through it's R&D cycle. the passage of time has converted those legacy costs into a" legacy benefit". the CA's a known quantity. meanwhile the Schwab's are still chasing reliability and performance issues in it's winning V6T. oh yeah, then there's the sound issue. re: "those teams would be even more hampered" sure, if and when you make conscious decisions that HAMPER them (knowing they're status ultimately lists them as "consumers" and not "producers") then yeah, that tends to be the outcome.
