MotoGP » Dall'Igna: New engine ‘first step’ for 2015 Ducati

re: "Concensus appears to be that Ducatis engine is too long." consensus was that the earth was flat, and WMD's were in Iraq. beware the perils of "group think". the long engine is the V2. don't mix your 90's. the V4 in contrast, is not only 200cc's smaller, but has it's displacement spread across 4 cylinders. cylinders arranged SIDE BY SIDE, thus compacting the engine considerably. you must unlearn what you have learned. (Yoda voice) what you lose in length, you gain back in width so don't go thinking it's a completely "free lunch" scenario (I know how you guys love that). so with extra journals on the crank, it's of course wider than Twin, but still not as wide as an M1. re: "Previously Duc have tilted the motor backwards" yup, we're 2 seasons into it. and just like I said back then, it's turned out NOT to be the cure-all/panacea laymen made it out to be. hint: it's the chassis.

MotoGP » Rossi, Yamaha confirm two-year deal

re: "Talks about his retirement surfaced first in 2007 and its has been more than 7 years since then and the legend is still here" that was always BS. 2016 is bye bye baby. the count down clock has officially begun ticking gentleman. you are now witnessing the "last days and contract" of VR46 (ps: you're not worthy). in 2 years the rider known as Ross will be no more.

MotoGP » Dall'Igna: New engine ‘first step’ for 2015 Ducati

re: "Gigi does have the know how" SOME of the know how. as talented as he, he's still only 1 man. any Engineer must concede this. what Noale achieved as constructors over decades draws upon many disciplines, ie. metallurgy, CAD, FEA, manufacturing/assembly, and classic welding craftsmanship with 1 (or 3) guys specializing in each. that's a TEAM. the better option was to "collaborate" with their fellow Italians rather than "poach". poaching is the sleezy move of corporations (read Audi). now ey've harmed Aprilia for their own personal gain and still may not achieve what they set out to do...? heck even Kawi and Suzuki worked together on production at one point. if you really want to make Nakamoto-san crap himself, let him find out Ducati/Aprilia were forming a COMBINED team in grandprix. LOL everybody wins, Duc get the chassis they need and Aprilia gets the GP effort they need. can you imagine the restored revenue stream Aprilia would have if they successfully wrapped a
