MotoGP » Yamaha confirm Valentino Rossi’s return

Thank god Rossi is coming back next year on a decent bike. Its good for Moto GP if he fights at the front because like him or not Rossi is still rhe biggest personality in motorcycle racing world wide and when he does well it makes the news headlines around the world and shines the spotlight on the sport in a way no other rider can do and from a marketing point of view thats important.Stoner as good as he is doesn't have the personality to appeal to the masses in the same way.Thats fact.If Rossi starts winning next year he will be all over the media, thats why its good for moto gp.

MotoGP » Valentino Rossi: 'Hard to concentrate' for poor positions

@motogpfan -"It was not yamaha that failed sheene it was the funding that sheene did not provide. 1981 was a different era"But he failed big time and he admitted it.So who are you trying to kid." Well firstly,Sheene wasn't a privateer in the mid 70s,he rode for the Heron Suzuki team as a factory rider.Suzuki Japan pulled out of racing at the end of 74 but gave full factory support to Heron and Sheene who was the number 1 rider, who helped developed the RG and won 2 world titles on it.He left them at the end of 79 and went private on Yamaha. As for funding,Akai were the biggest sponsor in racing at that time.Yamaha failed him in 82 because they didn't give him the V4 earlier in the year especially as he was beating Roberts most of the time. Now,who r u kidding?!!

MotoGP » Valentino Rossi: 'Hard to concentrate' for poor positions

@moto gp fan.You say Sheene ran his own team and failed miserably, not really. He won the title in 77 and formed his own team in 1980 using a substandard bike.True, this didnt work out too well but he did get a factory bike for 1981 because of it and finished 4th in the championship that year.He then formed his own team again for the 1982 season but with factory support,of sorts. He had a string of podiums during the year and was in joint 2nd position in the championship when they got to Silverstone,we all know what happened next.It was yamaha that failed Sheene, not his ability to run a team and he was 32 at the time.

MotoGP » Valentino Rossi lashes out after Qatar nightmare

RawDawg - Rossi said yesterday that the set up changes he requested after qualifying were'nt carried out by the team so the bike was worse than it had been all weekend.Maybe he isn't trying hard enough at the moment, probably because he knows he will crash if he tries.Hayden may well have had the same amount of podiums as Rossi last year, how many years has he been riding the thing.I'm sure they will get the thing sorted out better in the next few races,or not if they don't carry out changes the riders ask for.

MotoGP » Valentino Rossi lashes out after Qatar nightmare

"Unrideable? Hayden or Barbera don't think so" Maybe but then again how many times have either won races on the Ducati let alone got on the podium ? Rossi has changed the bike so far as to allow the other guys to go better on it,that wasn't so much the case before Rossi joined Ducati. Stoner's ability to ride around problems masked a great number of issues with the bike,Rossi isn't prepared to take those risks and why should he.He's won 9 world titles in all classes at GP level and set many records along the way and has done so by having the bike set up so he can ride it fast without crashing it every time he needs to push. The last time he rode a bike capable of winning on it he did and might have won the title if he hadn't broken his leg and that was not that long ago.The Duke doesn't work, thats down to the team to sort out.
