MotoGP » Stoner: Racing is best way to honour Simoncelli

For sure this weekends final GP of the season is going to be tough for everyone.I'm pleased that the Gresini team will take part in the event which will no doubt be harder for them than for any of them but a great way to pay tribute to Marco. This has turned into something of a black year for motorsport with all of the people that have died racing this year and I'm very sad to have discovered just now from reading about it in the Daily Express that British sidecar legends Roy Hanks and Dave Wells had a crash at the weekend and sadly Dave Wells has passed away as a result of his injuries.I've seen these guys race many times over the years and this is another tragedy.RIP Dave,it was always great to watch you race and you will be very sadly missed.

MotoGP » Simoncelli's father: Marco was a warrior

I still can't believe Marco has actually gone,it doesn't seem real and I wish it wasn't.I'm not sure what else I can say other than he was the best thing to happen in Moto GP for the last couple of years and will be sorely missed by the rest of us.To his family, friends and girlfriend,my thoughts are with you all.Moto GP and motorsport in general has lost a great racer and great man and things won't be the same again in Moto GP.RIP Marco Simoncelli.

MotoGP » Marco Simoncelli dies from Sepang MotoGP injuries

Devastated by this,Marco was one of the most exciting riders in Moto GP and it certainly wont be the same without him.I can't get my head around the fact that he's gone. This is just the worst news possible. There was nothing Colin or Vale could do to avoid him, they must be heartbroken.RIP to a great man and condolences to his family, friends and fellow racers.I really can't believe this,It's so tragic.

IndyCar » Dan Wheldon killed in Las Vegas accident

This is a huge tragedy. This sport is dangerous,we all know that.I didn't think this could possibly happen to Dan.I've kept an interest in Indy cars since Dan and Dario Franchitti started racing in this series, being British.Motorsport in general has lost a great champion and above all a great person. This championship will never be the same again and I hope they learn from this and make changes so that it doesn't happen again.Condolences to his family.RIP Dan,you'll be sadly missed.

MotoGP » Rossi: Short-term 'inconclusive', long-term 'hope'

"Ducati has tried everything on their bike & sent the reject parts to the trash bin. Maybe they need to look at the rider" Stoner is the only rider to win a title on that bike yet nobody else can get on with it and ALL of them (including Stoner) has complained about the same issues. They even gave Stoner new front forks at the start of 08 and he ditched them in favour of the previous years forks a few races into the season yet still struggled with the bike.Jerry Burgess said several weeks ago that Stoner didn't give a great deal of feedback to his crew and rode around most problems which in turn didn't help with the developement of the bike, something which is apparent as they still have the same problems with it that Stoner had.Burgess has been a top crew chief for decades and helped make several riders into world champions,if he and the latest of his champions can't figure out how to solve a bike they've changed every conceivable setting on,there's obviously a major problem.

MotoGP » Rossi: Short-term 'inconclusive', long-term 'hope'

"Who cares about this has-been".Posted by Richard James A has-been ? Are you sure ? Rossi finished 3rd in the championship last year even though he missed several races due to a serious leg break and came back and still got several podiums and a race win.You don't forget how to ride like that in less than a year especially if you're the rider that has re-written the history books several times during your career.I admit, the more Rossi struggles with this bike the more respect I have for Stoner but he also struggled a great deal with that Ducati and rode around a lot of problems. He won the title on it first time out but couldn't do it again which was the start of the current problems. How many times did he crash the thing due to front end problems in the years after he won the title ? Seems to me Ducati need to design a hole new bike from scratch if they want to win a championship again.
