MotoGP » Radiation report gives Japanese MotoGP green light

Well if i was one of the riders or team members heading out to Japan in the next couple of months for the Japanese GP i would be sh1tt1ng a brick right now especially if i was one of the guys that didn't want to go in the first place. On Saturday (23rd July 2011 ) North East Japan suffered another earthquake which was a magnitude of 6.5 on the scale. This was the same area as the big one earlier in the year which killed 23,000 people so the situation is very far from settled at the moment. As much as i understand the corporate pressure for a GP especially in Honda's back yard it would seem that Japan right now has many more concerns than stageing a GP in the next 2 months or so.The situation there is still fragile and it would make more sense to cancel the race for this year. The Japanese environment should be a lot more settled in 12 months time with a better understanding of the situation (to be cont)

WSBK » Toseland returns, Lanzi on standby

RawDawg, when JT rode for Ten Kate team that Honda wasn't a factory bike,he even had to beg to get a semi decent electronics package mid season from somewhere else if you remember.Honda may well give factory support to the Ten Kate team now but they didn't back then and he still won the title on it,something i don't see Rea doing any time soon even on a factory bike.

MotoGP » Smith: Motorcycling should learn from F1

Pilgy said it all really.Kenny snr tried and failed with F1 input and was stitched up by the huge sponsorship deal he needed in order to get the financial backing to probably end up at the ars3 end of the field.Brads "idea" in a perfect world may be a good one but the amount of financial backing it would take to just get one team into Moto GP let alone several wouldn't happen.Formula 1 has masses and masses of global financial support and backing and Bike sport in general doesn't.It's always played second fiddle to F1 regardless of how boring F1 has become.Still you have to humour little Brad,he is ginger after all !!!

BSB » Bridewell leaves Tyco Honda

Jesus, some people need to go out and get some fresh air i think.Bridewell is famed for his comments on air which is why people like Tony Carter and Jamie Whitham like him so much, they know he's going to say something off the cuff and it's always said with a sly smile,it's called a sense of humour which clearly a fair few on here don't have.I hope he gets a decent bike to continue the season with.

BSB » Bridewell leaves Tyco Honda

Unfortunately this seems to be down to a lack of financial support with the team.Tommy said on his facebook page last week that he needed a good backer to continue racing in BSB this year with the team so this news was expected. He missed the Oulton round after crashing the bike the race before and the team couldn't afford to put it back together in time.It would be a nice change if this chap managed to get with a team with a good financial set up,the guy is a very talented rider and could become far better with the right team.
