WSBK » Laverty: Melandri is a dirty rider…

I know this much, the BMW was nothing until Melandri started riding it. By no means does this justify his aggressive and dangerous passing, just saying the guy has turned things around for BMW, of course right as they decide to leave the championship. Laverty's around the outside, smooth and clean as you can pass, has to be one of the best I have ever seen, and fantastic payback for Melandri's dive that pushed him wide. Regarding Sofuoglu, he is the classic "no one else can do it except me" guy. He complains when other riders are riding hard against him, but then goes out and pulls nasty moves himself.

WSBK » Six of the Best: WSBK titles down to the wire

For me the best season was the Edwards vs Bayliss battle of 2002. Edwards was always in Troy's shadow. The amazing comeback, with win after win by Edwards and Troy's misfortune towards the end of the season perfectly setup the final race, where it was a head to head winner take all. Add to it the final race was bar to bar, pass after pass until the final end. Absolutely fantastic to watch.

MotoGP » Lorenzo to Ben Spies: Stay calm and focused

@Hookem As far as contracts go, the year is over for Ben. It seems in GP most contracts are signed by about halfway, so a rider has to proof his worth in the first half. I like Ben, I know he has the talent, but something is not working for him this year and the real cause seems to be a combination of several things. That said, if I were hiring a rider for next years factory team, and I had the choice of Spies or Dovi, I would go with Dovi.

MotoGP » Lorenzo to Ben Spies: Stay calm and focused

I am an American and I like Spies, he's got the talent to be a front runner but a combination of bad confidence and bad luck have him down the charts this year. Honestly, if I were Yamaha management I would offer the seat to Dovi. Dovi would be the perfect second rider on that team, he is fast enough to put himself in between the Honda riders and Lorenzo but not fast enough to beat Lorenzo. I want to see Crutchlow on the Ducati, although it just may be career suicide for him, but a nice paycheck to collect while he is still in his riding years. I'd like to see Dovi on the Yamaha. With a Lorenzo/Dovi combo next year, Honda will be no match Pedrosa/Marquez.

MotoGP » Pedrosa: I saw the image of two Repsols on the ground...

Dani is one of the safest passers out there (minus his 2006 season), he won't go for it if it means hanging it out there and possibly causing a crash. At the same time this "play it safe" attitude has prevented him from achieving perhaps more in GP. The way things are looking for next year, Jorge will most likely have the season in the bag, unless Dani can step up or Rossi gets a good ride (private team Yamaha is my guess).

MotoGP » History suggests all-new HRC line-up unlikely

Dani wins races but not championships. He's managed to keep his seat in Honda by staying near the top, but not quite the top. As of next year, he will be most likely be the 2nd best rider in GP (if Stoner leaves), so Honda will happily keep him, he gets results. Too bad for Honda that they won't have a rider capable of winning the championship next year, unless...... they pick up VR46. :)
