WSBK » Biaggi: We need to improve Aprilia

So far been a great season. We are at the halfway point and there are 5 riders at the top within a 30 point spread, downright awesome if you ask me from a fan perspective. This is going to be a big weekend to flesh out the standings. Checa hasn't dominated as expected, Biaggi is consistent but not running away, meanwhile BMW and Kawasaki are right up there, with Rea doing his best on the Honda. Only thing we are missing is the Yamaha's, they seemed to have picked a bad year to leave.

MotoGP » 'Character building'

@Realist Technically Elias won the Moto2 championship in 2010, prior to coming back to MotoGP in 2011. Where he found nothing but trouble on a Honda, and has since ran back to Moto2, where he's currently in 12th place overall with a best finish of 7th. Your point is still valid, Elias won the mid-class championship, before going back to GP. Historically the champ of 250cc and now Moto2 tends to move up to GP, at least for a year. Bradley's really got to show more before deserving a ride in GP.

MotoGP » 'Character building'

@johnny Your point of letting him have his chance to prove himself by having him ride a prototype and then show what he's got, would be a good point when we had a ton of prototypes in MotoGP. But the sad truth is there are only a handful of prototype rides available, and honestly there are other riders out there that have proved themselves much more worthy, by way of results. This just reminds me of when they (probably the Japanese) pushed for Takahashi, to ride in GP, and the results just were not there.

@BC No doubt none of us here could keep up with Bradley, but that's not the point being discussed, the point is can Bradley keep up and smell the exhaust of the current prototype racers in MotoGP. My guess, at present is he will be somewhere back where Karel Abraham has been running. I have no hate for Bradley, I've met him and think he's a top notch bloke, just not ready for a prototype in GP.

WSBK » Melandri takes title momentum to Misano

Checa pulled the double win at Misano last year. Biaggi the double win the year before that. In 2009 it was Spies with 1 win, Rea with the other (mixed conditions if I remember correctly). So I wouldn't go so far as to say Misano is a "Ducati Track" as is so often thrown out for certain tracks. Melandri is on a roll, a good qualifying (as he pointed out himself) is going to be key. That said Checa is going to be on fire to try and get some points back. Biaggi could be keen to get a win as well. Either way, hope its a good dry weekend.

MotoGP » MotoGP podium trio give views on Marquez clash

Probably the most common pass in moto racing is when a rider in front makes a mistake, goes wide, slows down enough for the rider behind to go thru. Unfortunately for Pol, Marquez's mistake was pretty minor, and Marquez was able to get back on the gas and line it up for the next corner. This resulted in a "racing incident". It would have been nice of Marquez to leave room as the gentleman Pedrosa does, and perhaps he will learn to do so in the future. But for now, no penalty should be enforced.

WSBK » Camier: Electronics key to Suzuki potential

If anyone should know the advantage that good electronics have it's Camier. His BSB championship was won on a much more expensive (relative to the competitors) Yamaha, that allegedly had outstanding electronics on it. That season really seemed to start the talk of limiting electronics in BSB. A few years back the BSB guys (Sykes, Haslam, Crutchlow) raced WSBK at Donington and did incredibly well as wild cards, on their near WSBK spec bikes. I doubt that would happen now with things limited in BSB. That said, I enjoy both series (BSB & WSBK) they got things well balanced for great racing. Although the "showdown" in BSB has the potential to be both good and bad.
