Competition this year is tough, Rossi, Stoner, Lorenzo, Pedrosa will always occupy the podium (in the dry). That leaves everyone else battling for 5th, and Dovi has been the best at this (when not crashing).

As JT hints, everyone is waiting on Lorenzo and Yamaha, once that is settled then things will slowly fall in place as they go down the pecking order amongst riders. JT is a good guy, he is very focused, but with the amount of rides being so limited in GP, his seat is quite a hot commodity. We just have to wait and see who wants to ride next year. I hope JT doesn't put all the pressure on himself as he did at last years GP. As an American and MotoGP fan, I wish luck to JT at your home.

Why is Edwards even in MotoGP, surely he should leave. 5th in the championship is absolutely terrible, if he isn't winning the races he should just leave. That goes for everyone else, except for Rossi, Lorenzo, Stoner, and maybe Dovi and Pedrosa. Sorry, had to get a little sarcasm off my back. Truthfully, I hope we have a good race. Past experience at Laguna shows that typically the racers get spread out, with little fighting going on (minus of course last years Rossi/Stoner scuffle). This year though times are getting tighter and tighter. Tire rule or perhaps the 800cc forumla is starting to balance out between teams? Yamaha clearly are the big boys this year however. :)

Over the season I have been noticing that killer looking triumph of McCoy's and Nannelli's more and more in the front pack. I was really happy for McCoy to pick up this podium. It's a huge boost to him and the whole Triumph program.

Their so-so results certainly aren't due to poor rider choice, as both Xaus and Corser are racing winning WSBK riders. But in the a game such as this, where tenths of seconds separate the top 15, its just that little bit that is often missing. I really expected BMW to have picked up the pace by now, perhaps getting these guys consistently into the top 10. Hope they can so they will stick around and continue racing.

I am quite happy to see another outfit, especially a new one like Stiggy, come into WSBK and do well. Good on Leon, he has been doing superb this year. Hopkins needs to visit some Tibetan monk or something and get his mojo back, the guy just has bad luck. Their rider in supersport, West, not sure what's up with him, he started out fast and promising this year and has fell off the pace. But then again, everyone has fell off the pace that Laverty and Crutchlow put in, their in a world of their own in that class.

"Watch out for Haslam this weekend." And Camier, and Sykes, and Byrne, and Spies, and Fabrizio, and Haga, and.... need I say more. If it's dry it's going to be outstanding. :) If it's wet, Byrne for the win, man that guy was fast in the drink at Misano.

As an American who watches and loves BSB, go Camier. Show 'em what you got. And good luck to Ellison and Andrews as well. Too bad Walker couldn't have made a wild card, he's a demon at Donington.

Yet another rider that hasn't clicked with the 800cc formula. Which is surprising as you would think he would given his small stature and similarity in build to Pedrosa. With Simoncelli taking for sure 1 seat, it will be interesting to watch DeAngelis and Elias battle for the last seat, if there will even be one at all for either. Moto2 could be calling their name and will probably be the best racing of them all next year. :)

Quote" hummmm..you just described all but 3 or 4 of the current riders in motogp. Not too many have won and not too many will. Posted by Pam" Bingo, everyone loves to criticize anyone that is not regularly on the podium or winning a race. MotoGP is the best of the best (the top 12-15 for the most part). But the truth is only a small handful are on the best bikes/teams and have the right combo to be at the front. If the conditions are right these guys could win at any time: Edwards, Capirossi, Vermi, Hayden, Dovi, Elias, DePuniet, JT, Melandri, all the classic mid-packer guys. But how often are the conditions perfect, not often. So does that mean we should kick these guys out of GP?

People laughed when I said last year that he should be given a Ducati ride. Think about Stoner and his crashing behavior on Honda and then miracle switch when going to Ducati. Randy has some similarity.

Races like this are why riders should read their race board and trust the teams decision to come in. A strategic switch at the right time is what allowed Spies to win and Lorenzo at Le Mans. A good team would be looking at the lap times that someone like Spies or Fabrizio were putting in after the switch and then get their guy in asap. Instead Haslam, Xaus, Hacking and Byrne to a certain degree, stayed out way too long and blew any chance of a better result.
