WSBK » Haslam: WSBK faster and closer than ever

I completely agree with Leon regarding the 1 bike rule. It makes the least amount of sense to me for a world championship to limit it to 1 bike. The teams are forced to keep another bike in a box but pulled apart rather than having it ready to go, not sure this is saving money. On top of that you just know that sooner or later someone is going to get caught out without a bike and have serious effects on the championship. The one bike rule's gotta go. The rest of the championship is at the best it's ever been. I love that BMW and Kawasaki are finally competitive. It's too bad Yamaha left, because that would be another mfg up there.

@e Unless Bradley Smith starts hitting the podium regularly and has a few wins this year, I personally don't see him fit for GP and on such a nice ride as the satellite Yamaha. I felt they made to many promises to him early on, and promises should go both ways, it's time Smith started living up to his promises to be a more successful rider. Dovi certainly would be my choice over an untested mid pack rider from Moto2. I'm being harsh, but this is racing. In regards to Cal, naturally it's too early to call things, but he's got great confidence and is well settled with the 1000cc Yam this year. He was a little squirrely in the first few laps of Jerez but settled down. He was smart enough not to take a dangerous lunge at Dani too. Looking to see what he can do the rest of year.

@Bens Pies What's really embarrassing is his team. There have been a number of times his mechanic's have messed up and sent him out on a bike with issues. That said he better get his shiz together or indeed its back to WSBK or hope for a satellite ride. He clearly can do the business (Assen 2011) but needs to show more consistency. I do remember watching him in the rain in WSBK, he was good sometimes, terrible other times. Plenty of season left to prove he's worth Yamaha's paycheck.
