WSBK » Bayliss hands #21 to Hopkins

While a rider is active, they can have "their" number otherwise it should be open. I also don't believe in retiring numbers. If they retire numbers, they may as well retire names, as it's just as idiotic. No one can ever use the name Marco if they want to ride, because he passed while racing. Also you can't be named Valentino because he was great. If you want to honor a rider that rode a number in the past, let someone new ride it so we can remember the past rider and cheer for the new one.

MotoGP » Aspar commits to Japanese GP entry

MotoGP should go to Japan, however not at a location (Motegi) that is close to the disaster area that has the potential to put people unnecessarily in harms way. Dorna, Japan, etc should be moving the race to Suzuka (even if not up to FIM standards), or if another track is available. Aspar is willing to go but only the minimum amount of days, sounds like he still has his own doubts about the safety of the location.

MotoGP » 'Sorry' Crutchlow vows to 'get his mojo back'

Cal seems like a great bloke, honest and up front, I like that. But like so many others, the stress of getting good results in GP has caused him to push too much. No way in hell should B. Smith take his place, Smith needs more experience and needs to show he can be a front runner or better yet champion, before graduating to GP. I like E. Laverty a lot, he's been super fast as a rookie in WSBK, but I don't think he should take Cal's spot just yet.

WSBK » Silverstone - Race results (2)

Congrats to Checa and his unexpected double. A solid lead now in the championship. With the obvious tire life problems this weekend (did you see Melandri's tire post race?), it gave Carlos a chance to do well on the "easier on tires" Ducati. Solid performances by Yamaha with Laverty and Melandri getting to the box. I'm sure Hopkins is disappointed after setting pole to not get better results, but he did well when surrounded by such great competition. Good results for Haslam, considering the BMW still needs work.

WSBK » Milestone man Checa makes history again

I don't get where this talk comes from about riders who previously rode in GP should return to GP. Every rider who has rode a GP bike knows that they are presently extremely difficult to ride. In SBK the rider still factors in much more than GP (where the bike must be riden to precision). More GP riders should come to WSBK, as the competition has been great these past few years.

MotoGP » Marco Simoncelli: Oops, I did it again...

It has been mentioned before, but the fact that 9 times out of 10 the race is decided on the first lap, has real bearing on situations like Simo getting overly aggressive in the first few corners and in his case crashing. MotoGP 800cc machines are too good, too perfect, and produce boring racing. I doubt 1000cc is going to be any better. Most people watch for entertainment, and the racing has been outright dull for the past 4years. I keep watching and hoping it gets better but the machines are just too sophisticated to produce any worth while racing.
