WSBK » Denning blasts Guintoli as deal falls through

I agree that airing your dirty washing in front of the media lacks dignity... However, I can understand Dennings comments. He has already been to the press about the signing, and has used the usual cliche's of how happy he is, how the team will grow and blah blah blah... etc. To have to back track on that must be very difficult and embarrassing for the team. At the end of the day Sylvain did sign the contract, and like everywhere else in life, once you have signed on the dotted line, it is a commitment no matter what else comes along. Also, Dennings position was made even more tricky by winter testing this week. If this statement hadn't been released there would have been huge pressure on the team answering the question of why Sylvain isn't there? His hand has been forced, and he has done the right thing issuing this before the test starts. As for Sylvain, I don't blame him for jumping ship for the Aprillia ride, it's a no brainer. However it does damage his credibility... alot

F1 » Boullier: Lotus must stay united

@ Dylan... Ok you win... Yes, Lewis Hamilton is exactly the driver that Ayrton Senna, the greatest driver of all time with 3 WDC's, 41 wins, 80 podiums & 65 poles, really wanted to be just like. Its obvious now, that must have been why Senna copied Lewis with the yellow helmet. How he did that before Hamilton was even born was the real trick! I hope you enjoy all of his impending success at Mercedes AMG... Im sure Sergio Perez is going too...

F1 » Boullier: Lotus must stay united

@ Jasper... Senna left McLaren when the team was on the decline and he wasn't able to defend his championship against the Williams at the time. He left for what he thought was going to be a more competitive car... Nothing to do with cash. As for Lewis, you can't tell me that you honestly think he has left McLaren as believes that the Mercedes has the more competitive package? Even when the new engine regs come in, Mclaren will still be using the same power unit as the Mercedes. And yes, in the end McLaren DID offer the same money, but it's nothing to do with the salary generated from the team. It's do with him being able to market himself and person sponsors. At McLaren, they only allow their drivers to have one, in his case Reebok. Now he is at Mercedes he can hore himself out to as many brands / products as he wants.

F1 » Boullier: Lotus must stay united

Dylan... When have Lotus ever had the slightest chance of signing Hamilton??? Also, your statement sugguests that you believe the Lotus engine & chassis package is stronger than the one produced by McLaren?... I'm a Lotus fan, but anybody will tell you that the McLaren is the MUCH stroner package. Hamilton hasn't had a sniff this year in the faster package so I very much doubt he would have walked the WDC if he had been in a Lotus... Raikkonen has done a sound job this year, he has missed a few opportunities to take race wins when he had the chance, but on his return back in an F1 car, he has done very well... And still leads Hamilton in the championship. As for comparing Hamilton to Senna... seriously??? The level that Hamilton has achieved of 3 WDC's??? Senna would never have walked away from the best team so he could make a quick buck, and sell himself as some Gansta wannabe rapper... So kindly go and prepare yourself for Hamilton's "glory years" in the mid-pack Mercedes!

F1 » Perez ruled out of Ferrari role

So old di Monte would prefer to use a driver who has more experience... but is slower??? I can't understand the logic in this, it's not like Perez is constantly in the wall, braking cars or engines, or ever infront of the stewards? He is clearly the future of F1 and this seems like a missed opportunity for Ferrari if they are planning on replacing Masaa (which this comment seems to all but confirm). So this would also rule out the likes of Paul DiResta, Nico Hulkenberg & Romain Grosjean as possible replacements. Leaving a pair of Flying Finns as the only real options as replacements?...

F1 » McLaren: No plan B over Hamilton

Like many, I seriously doubt that a team at the leave of McLaren's has no plan B. It would surpise me if they didnt have a Plan Z formulated! What Mr whitmarsh propobably means, is there is no clear/easy replacement for Lewis. They find themself in a position where they have to decide whether they want to invest in the future and take a gamble on a younger driver, or focus on winning races and championships in the here and now with an established driver. In terms of younger drives, Nico Hulkenberg would be a obvious choice for the team. However it wouldn't surpise me if they approached Sergio Perez, thus forcing Ferrari's hand with a "use it or lose it" style play. However, if they are going for established, consistant drivers who are more than able to win races then looking at the current market, there is 1 clear option... I give you, Mr Kimi Raikkonen.

F1 » Raikkonen secures Monza 'maximum'

As much as I am a big Lotus fan, and appreciate that they gave Kimi the opportunity to return to F1. I think the cold hard fact is that Lotus, at the moment are simply not up to winning a world championship. The car is there or there about's, however like many times in the past, Lotus/Renault can not develop the car at the same rate as the "big teams" However, the more worrying fact seems to be that when Lotus DO have the fastest car i.e Bahrain, Spain & Hungary. They show a lack of ability to take control of the race and make the critical calls that they have to, to go forward and win the race. It pains me to say it, but if Raikkonen's primary ambition with his return to racing is to win races & ultimately another WDC then I feel that he may have to look at a return to McLaren or (god forbid) Ferrari. Although, can not see him being allowed to win at Ferrari while Fernando is there. And a move to McLaren would seem to hinge on whether Lewis puts money & showbiz ahead of pure racing.
