My, my... haven't Ferrari fans gone quiet in this thread? Don't tell me they actually realise 'their' High and Mighty team is above the law?

Mad Max needs to pack his bags and **** off to Italy where I'm sure John Toad and Co would welcome him as a fully-fledged team member...

McLaren, not to mention every single non-Ferrari F1 fan, has every right to feel abused with what's gone on this season.

Methinks you might be onto something there, baiter. That makes twice in a matter of weeks Gorey's effectively pulled the plug on a race team. Pulling out of V8 Supercar the week prior to Adelaide was appalling and now he's not put forth his fair share in Team Oz. After not liking him initially, I was beginning to warm to him. Now looks like we're headed full circle...

Such a shame. As Badger says, the merged series has now lost two of Champ Car's most popular teams. Let us just hope that the likes of PT and Will Power can land half decent seats for this season. With $$Bernie$$ and Mad Max continuing on with their apparent intent to destroy F1, what's left for open wheelers? Maybe it's just a first-year glitch for the merged series. Fingers crossed it's no more than that...

Absolutely brilliant job by Will and the whole DJR crew to well and truly show that the team is back! Together with Junior''s strong form in Adelaide, it looks like they''re on the up and will be challenging throughout the year - I certainly hope so... :)

I'm with rps on this one - it will indeed be great to see the 'old' Champ Car teams back on the Gold Coast. Pity Seb won last year, otherwise we could keep the no-repeat streak going for another decade with so many more competitors lining up in future...

I for one certainly hope the merger takes place, so long as some of the 'marquee' Champ Car events continue, the likes of Long Beach, Road America and especially Gold Coast. It's been mooted that V8 Supercar may have that event to itself in future, so maybe a combined US open wheel category would open negotiations to extending the current setup. A return to the 'glory days' on the cards...?

Actually, Mister Unregistered, I'm an Aussie and as such am wholly against any Poms out there. However, unlike you with your red-tinted glasses, I can see through the shyte...

I think everyone should have to register. That might help things... As for 'spygate' I feel sorry for Stepney. He was made an example of, and the scapegoat for, all the so-called 'spying' that's openly acknowledged to have occurred in racing - not just F1 - for just about all eternity. As for the rest of the rubbish, I'm right behind Speed Freak. Well said!

Well, mph, Heikki passed Kimi on the last last at a soaking Fuji, did he not? I think he'll easily live up to the Finnish McLaren driver 'legacy'. Only thing that's different for this Finn is he won't have DC for a teammate...

I think, at least on second-half 2007 form, we're in for another tight intra-team battle at McLaren in season 2008. One thing's for certain: it'll be exciting. Lewis and Heikki are young but they're also both bloody fast and rarely 'chuck it into the scenery'. I think Ferrari better watch its back because they're certainly the hunted this year...
