F1 » F1 2013 POLL: Who sparkled in Spa?

Spa is officially on my Bucket List of places to see an F1 race before I die! The run through Eau Rouge and up to Les Combes is just amazing to watch! Hard to argue with the move Vettel put on Hamilton on the run up the hill! He put on a Master Class yesterday, managing the race from the front and answering all challenges. You have to wonder how beat down the Ferrari Engineers are these days. They have to be constantly chastised for the lack of performance by Ferdi. Rightly so I suppose.

MotoGP » More surgery for Ben Spies

Its easy for the armchair MotoGP critics to write off this guy, just as they were all too eager to do to virtually every rider to swing a leg over the Ducati save for Stoner. Spies is a huge talent. Anyone who dismisses the man's career accomplishments based on the past 12 months exploits is a fool! That being said, the types of injuries he has sustained are just the sort of injuries that have ended more than a few racers careers. It may suck out loud but taking the time to get healthy is the only thing that will get his career back on track. And even then he has the Ducati to tame, no small task!

F1 » Horner: Vettel won't influence who replaces Webber

Vettel has faced (arguably) the most talented field in the history of the sport and has three successive titles to show for it. If I were Helmut Marco I would also be doing all in my power to make sure my guy was happy with things. Whether horner is truthful or not matters little but the ultimate question (for me anyway)is the cost delta between A) Vettel and Alonso's salary and B) Webber and Riciardo's salaries and C) Webber and Raikonen's salaries. Vettel not being the highest paid guy in the paddock is a mystery to me based on results! Despite what Horner says, Kimi would undoubtedly cost a pretty penny for RBR to bring onboard VS Daniel. I suspect Kimi would make up for it in fewer torn up cars! And Why isn't Grosjean in the mix here?

MotoGP » Hayden hoping for home cheer

MotoGP is stagnating and Dorna have sat on there ass for far too long cracking their knuckles and watching the checks come in. Rather than promoting the sport, they concentrate on making sure that they get paid, that there digital rights are uncompromised and that the rule book is in an ever changing state so that no manufacturer would want to join the party. A stable rules package and a few lessons from NASCAR about promoting the sport would surely help. BMW, Aprilia, Kawasaki, KTM etc are avoiding MotoGP like the plague right now because it is not a viable marketing tool for their brands. With Nicky being shown the door, Colin likely nearing the end of his career and Ben Spies a question mark they could be marching forward with no Americans at all for the first time in decades. With 3 races now in the US that seems rather tenuous to me.
