After this year Spies will have "EXPERIENCE" on practically all of the tracks the MotoGP guys run on. Lets take a quick look at what he has done on the 2 tracks he actually had experience on this year... Complete Anhilitation over guys who have raced there for years! If you are vain enough to believe that this kid wont be competitive in MotoGP you need to snap to, before you wet the bed!

The one clear message he has sent to every team owner in the world is that he can adapt rapidly to a new bike, team, tires and tracks at the drop of a hat, and be the fastest guy at nearly every freaking one of them! That kids, is lightning in a bottle and all of them want it, price no object!

Give it time. All these new guys are just getting their feet wet. I agree totally with the approach Spies has taken. Adapting his riding style to the bike instead of focusing on chassis and mapping refinements. It has clearly payed dividends for him early on. Once he figures out the style he needs then they can chase those refinements to match. If the 250 guys came in thinking that simply racing 250's is the magic key to going fast on a motogp Bike and nothing more is required then they have a rude awakening before them.

Interesting contrast in ethos between the factory teams. Honda- We will spare no effort or outlay to create the finest machine possible, and demand that our riders excel on it. Yamaha- We will spare no effort or outlay to get the finest talent, and continue to refine the most balanced motorcycle in the sport. Ducati- We will spare no effort or outlay to siphon off some of Yamahas plentiful talent pool. Suzuki- We will spare all effort and outlay to create a "Factory" machine that is cosmetically passable as a Motogp racer simply to fulfill our contractual obligation to Dorna and make it possible for us to dupe a fast rookie into signing for us. Kawasaki- We quit!

David has a tentative Moto2 rider list on Motomatters.com now. The one that surprised me was Roger Lee Hayden to the JIR Moto2 team! That right Nicky's lil bro!

Most people know the difference between the true fans and the malcontents who flock to forums such as this, be they American or otherwise. Moving on.

Now were getting into the thick of it. Under promise, and over deliver, could be Ben's personal Mantra. Having watched him come up through the AMA ranks and learning his race-craft under the "character building" tutelage of Mladin I have to say that his transition to MotoGP is at least one season overdue IMHO! sure the WSBK year was good for him. But it is obvious he has been under-utilized for some time now. Suzuki made what will prove to be their biggest mistake ever by letting a talent of this magnitude go to Yamaha. For him to be running neck and neck with the Aliens on a satellite bike so early on is a treat for his fans to watch. I suspect merchandisers are working overtime to cash in!
