After this year Spies will have "EXPERIENCE" on practically all of the tracks the MotoGP guys run on. Lets take a quick look at what he has done on the 2 tracks he actually had experience on this year... Complete Anhilitation over guys who have raced there for years! If you are vain enough to believe that this kid wont be competitive in MotoGP you need to snap to, before you wet the bed!

The one clear message he has sent to every team owner in the world is that he can adapt rapidly to a new bike, team, tires and tracks at the drop of a hat, and be the fastest guy at nearly every freaking one of them! That kids, is lightning in a bottle and all of them want it, price no object!

Did anyone catch the Colin Edwards interview on Windtunnel (SPEED TV here in the US)the other night? Colin talks about how all this transpired, though not in much depth. He theroizes that Yamaha wanted to put all their "eggs" in one basket and get all the best guys in MotoGP. So the support for the various domestic series and also WSBK is apparently on the decline. The WSS team would be an obvious victim.

In addition to Sterilgarda Spies is also apparently Bringing HJC into MotoGP! They even have a Ben Spies replica Piggy bank available on their website! That kind of exposure is what it is all about. Bringing new reputable sponsors onboard is an artform unto itself.

Cool paint job but what happened to the Jordan Sponsorship? Sterilgarda getting a toe in the MotoGP Sandbox is encouraging! The more the merrier on that front! Can't wait for this weekend. Final 250 race ever and Spies Debut makes for some decent bench racing at the very least!

According to the odds makers at BWIN.com Spies is currently ranked 5th behind the "aliens" for the win in Sundays race! :) James Toseland is not ranked. WWW.bwin.com/motorbikes

Where are all the team order mavens now? Two weeks ago everybody was up in arms about Fabrizio non team-centric attitude and not doing all he could to help Haga secure a World title. Now Rossi has an opportunity to be a teamplayer and perhaps be in a position to help his team mate to secure 2nd in the championship and a 1-2 for Yamaha as well and no one has mentioned it?

Lots of questions, not many answers. Will he be on the 2010 bike? Will he be on the long life engine package? Will he be on Factory level kit or Tech3 level? Has his crew been given any exposure to the M1 and its systems? What will the livery look like? How much have the Bridgestone's improved since he last rode on them? Has the the team made any orders? Etc. Etc. Until you know all those things you can't really make any kind of educated guess. There will be a lot of guys fighting for their motoGP lives at Valencia and he is smart enough to stay out of the way of anyones championship battles. I gotta take the kid at his word and figure top 10 is viable. Anything ahead of that is gravy.

RE:How so, should'nt a single tire equalize the field already? If it hasnt now, what is so different about Pirelli or Dunlop rubber that will "equalize" the field? disco Posted by disco The switch didn't happen over night. If you recall back to when all the teams who were not previously using the Bridgestones made the switch last fall. The excess grip from the front Bridgestone caused most of them to rethink their entire chassis setup. Even going so far as to make major wheelbase changes. Some have got it right, and some obviously are still struggling with it. If all were forced to switch to the same tire at the same time it would put every team at square one! That my friend, is how.
