MotoGP » Honda responds to Ducati’s Open decision

A point about the number of engines used. The development costs to create a long-life engine is very large easily being a larger figure than producing twelve "short-life" ( for lack of a better term) engines. This rule for factory teams is just another tool for Honda and Yamaha to limit competition. Show us your long-life engine development budget before you whinge about the costs of more engines. Also, the rules don't say you have to use 12 engines, that's up to the team to decide and if they want to save money they can use fewer. Honda is outraged that their ruling the roost in MotoGP technical regulations is being eroded by Dorna's attempts to level the playing field in MotoGP.

MotoGP » Fastest Lorenzo turns page on Sepang woes

Lorenzo said at Sepang that Bridgestone was not going to change the spec on the 2014 tires which he didn't like. Now at Phillip Island Bridgestone has three new tires for him to try? In 2012 Bridgestone didn't change the spec on the tire that Stoner and Pedrosa said was usafe and gave them huge chatter ( not only them either) which basically ruined their season. If the new tires Bridgestone tested are used anywhere else than at Phillip Island it demonstrates a clear bias toward Yamaha. This is inconsistent and a manipulation of the championship. Dorna should take immediate action against Bridgestone if they are in fact rigging the championship in Yamaha's favor.

MotoGP » Lorenzo: It's impossible to be competitive

Rossi and Pedrosa both alluded to the difference in bike characteristics and how they influence the type performance. The Honda is strong on braking and accelerating while the Yamaha is strong at max lean angles and corner speed. Lorenzo's style relies on max lean angles for longer thru the corners because of his flowing style of riding and so this new tire affects his lap times more. It is a mistake to say that the Honda's don't have the same problem dealing with the new tire, they are just naturally designed to work around the problem with superior strengths in other performance areas.
