F1 » F1 to revisit double points ‘gimmick’?

The F1 Strategy Group seems to be totally ignorant of Formula One's history as well as the role of fair play in sport. Since 1950 every race offered the same number of points. Some races resulted in half points being awarded because of rain conditions but it was the same rule for all tracks. To follow historical precedence Abu Dhaba should have a race distance of 400 miles if they want to award twice the points. It's clear that the business men who run F1 don't care about the sport like many of it's fans do. A recipe for trouble.

F1 » Newey admits concerns with 2014-spec F1

And so Red Bull starts their next propaganda campaign to reshape the rules to their liking. Looking at the new cars, they all seem to have humps ahead of the cockpit which should prevent crash structures from getting to the drivers area. I think Red Bull should place a suitable crash structure just in front of the cockpit to make sure Newey's prediction doesn't come true.

F1 » Double points rule set to stay

If you don't agree with this doubling of the points for Abu Dhabi boycott attending or watching this race on TV or your computer. It seems the powers that be are trying to encourage viewing figures in the event that the world championship is decided prior to this race. By boycotting it a message is sent that such gimmickry has no place in the "sport" of Formula One. I hope that everyone who feels this way will join me in boycotting the Abu Dhabi farce.
