MotoGP » Engine bolt forces early end for Pedrosa

Pedrosa didn't lose as much time as he thought because it's been announced by Shinji Aoki, Manager, Bridgestone Motorsport Tire Development Department that riders will have to use the harder rear tire options for the MotoGP race at Phillip Island due to the characteristics of the repaved track. That's one way of getting the riders to use the harder tires! And this after only one rider used the harder option rear in practice two. This means everybody has to recalibrate for the harder tires now so Dani can catch up to the rest. Let's hope the temperatures don't drop on Sunday.

MotoGP » Lorenzo: It’s a pleasure

Talentfan, I appreciate your passion for the sport and I also think about what this sport means to us all and what would make it better. But please remember that inequality is the nature of competition. The purpose of sport is not to attain equality, it's to surpass your competitors and rise above them. Motorsport is a hybrid sport. It has a human part and a mechanical part and a team part and when they are balanced it makes the most thrilling and to a lot of us the most meaningful of competitions. But by balanced I don't mean equality but fair play. There is always conflict and forces fighting for advantage which makes balance a hard target to hit. I guess that's a part of competition too. So enjoy Lorenzo's success but don't blame Honda for trying to be successful because it's all the same thing. It's the fuel for competition which we all enjoy as fans of Moto racing.

MotoGP » Lorenzo: 'Marquez should have been rewarded'

For all the risks Marquez takes it's only once he has failed to finish a race this year. Maybe the other riders should take a few more risks? Lorenzo is pissed because he is trying to close the points gap anyway possible and this was an opportunity lost so he lashes out, I don't blame him one bit but a big penalty on Marc isn't the way to win a championship, now is it?

F1 » Pirelli demands end to ‘going round in circles’

Pirelli needs to get the FIA to overrule the teams and change the two compound per race folly. This and Pirelli's own ambition to be seem as the maker of exciting races have brought all the problems on Pirelli's head. The solution is one reliable and safe tire. Test tires by FIA imposed orders during the remaining Fridays this season using all the teams. This is fair and gives all teams an equal opportunity to contribute data and opinions about the tires. It's time for Pirelli to compromise and do the logical and sane thing for the good of the sport and themselves.
