F1 » Mercedes set to make F1 engine freeze compromise

The fact that the FIA has conceded it's control over the making of the technical regulations is criminal. Any freeze on technical development is contrary to the spirit of Formula One. Toto's reasoning against Mercedes opening PU development because of increased costs is nonsense for the very argument he stated. Mercedes supplying twice as many teams as any competitor will allow Mercedes to spread development costs over a larger group of paying clients.

F1 » Horner: Engine unfreeze important for F1

The sad truth is that the teams all agreed to the set of rules which limit development. Where was their competitive concerns then. Just amazing that they couldn't imagine the current situation might happen. That the teams have any influence over the rules is idiotic and another negative effect of the moneymen's continues dominance of the business, not sport, called Formula One.
