MotoGP » Marquez: Stoner Ducati speculation 'interesting'

I've admired Stoner as a racer for many years but I must admit that I have questions about his testing contributions. Both in 2007 and 2012 he was new to the teams and extracted the most from the machines he was given. But at Ducati as time went on the bikes got worst and worst and soon no one but Casey could be competitive on them. The same with Honda and we have seen how poor this year's bike has been, a machine which Casey tested on I believe. Also, it's a bit strange that Honda would let an ace development riders contract lapse, isn't it? Stoner has breathtaking abilities on a race bike, I'm just not sure they extend to development.

F1 » Opinion divided on commercial F1 engine

Kaltenhorn's 1st objections is suspect as even now it is impossible to balance the factory power units with the customer power units. The only scenario where there would be a crisis is if the comm. engine outperforms the manufacturers engines. All bloody hell will break loss if that happens! The compromise will be for the manufacturers winning everything (as normal) and the independent teams getting the chance to continue racing with an engine which is affordable for them. As for the "greening" of the series? I don't see anyone at CVC or the teams (besides the advantaged Mercedes team) who gives a rat's ahole about it!
