F1 » Ecclestone warns quieter F1 could be costly

PEOPLE! The essence of F1 is to win. The participants do everything they can to win. Loud is only a byproduct of this process. The cars sound like they must to win. I don't understand people who insist that damaging their hearing is so dear to themselves. Bernie's sheep must be so in love with nostalgia that they desire to injure themselves to have it. The noise issue is only a tool that Ecclestone uses to try and change the technical regulations. In fact he supported Mr. Walker in creating the track owners organization for the purpose of using this noise issue to accomplish his aim and as we can read on this site today he continues to harp on this issue. A bit late, since billions have already been spent on the new formula, but what does he care? This whinging about the sound just furthers his agenda. There are much better things to complain about in F1 today, really.

F1 » 'Ferrari is behind' - Stefano Domenicali

Ferrari has been a competitor in F1 since 1950. They have done well in both drivers and constructors championships over the years but i don't consider being second or third as a good result at all and neither does Ferrari if you believe their press releases. Schumacher and the technical team at Ferrari were still very strong in 2005 and 2006. Alonso wasn't gifted those championships, not one little bit. But yes, all good things come to an end, as the present situation at Ferrari demonstrates. I agree that mine was an odd post, I feel odd about the situation at Ferrari. It's sort of "Groundhog Day" in an F1 setting each season a repeat of the one before.

F1 » 'Ferrari is behind' - Stefano Domenicali

I'd like to agree with rob01 but it is becoming apparent that the Todt led era of Ferrari competitiveness was an anomaly and that Ferrari has slid back into it's more traditional mid-pack position. The retainer and prestige of driving for the scuderia are comfortable but I would remind Fernando that world championships are what are remembered not loyalty to a certain team. Alonso bested Schumacher at his and Ferrari's peak. It seems some sort of twisted fate that his talent should now be wasting away at that same team. In my humble opinion it's a tragedy.

MotoGP » Hayden losing 'half a second' on straights

Honda is really putting all it's eggs in the "factory" basket. HRC rightly reason that they only need two riders on the fastest bikes to win races and the championships. They are engineering things to make sure the open class fails, even going so far as to produce the RCV1000R. Once all the teams realize this they may never be able to sell another "production" racer to anyone with more memory than a noodle.

MotoGP » Ducati 'not happy' with Factory 2 development

While I applaud the stated goals of Dorna in trying to unify the MotoGP class so that there are one set of rules for all competitors on a somewhat level playing field I can not help being dismayed by the weak leadership of that organization. When financial considerations outweigh sporting fairness it creates the type of chaos we see in the sport today. It may be a "show" but it certainly isn't Grand Prix racing.
