F1 » Kate Walker: The other decision made in London

What happens when the front row on a restart has spent tires and a car back in row eight has new tires? How are they going to direct the cars to the correct grid positions and what can be done to the cars when they pit. How long will they be retained in the pitlane? Will cars overheat on reformed grids. Since this is a restart of the race how will laps be adjusted. When there is a crash on the restart does the safety car come out or do the cars just go back to the box? How about NASCAR style "debris" on the track, will this cause a restart? Are they going to replace the planks with Titanium strips or use both, how many strips can they use and where are they to be positioned? It just goes on and on. This is what happens when you abandon competition for show biz!!! It is more than pathetic, it's sickening.

MotoGP » Ducati likely to lease rather than sell

The reason the CRT class was created and now the Open class, in part, was because the leasing practices of the factories became so over priced that private teams could no longer afford to go racing. Dorna came out strongly against leasing racebikes and that led to the proddie Honda and Yamaha wiggling around the issue by leasing engine packages. It would seem that if the factories re-institute leasing racebikes that we will repeat history. There are many ways of addressing the problem and it will be interesting to see Dorna's response to this new leasing development.

Le Mans » Toyota's Nakajima hails Le Mans pole

What a contrast between Le Mans cars and F1. The rule-makers have allowed the designers and engineers to decide how they will create a winner and the results are stunning. The top three entrants all go about constructing in different ways and the racing will decide which way is best. And then there is F1... This Le Mans should be awesome and I'd image a bunch of car manufacturers are taking notice.
