MOTOGP » Valentino Rossi lashes out after Qatar nightmare

So Rossi doesn't want to push on a bike that's not perfect. .Gardner rode a high-siding NSR500 to the 1987 WC. .Lawson rode the same to the 1989 WC, "like death". .Doohan rode it to within 4pts of the 1992 WC with a leg so bent it was in the breeze and couldn't operate rear brake with his foot. .Stoner rode variations of a squirming, bucking, sliding Ducati to the most wins in the 800cc era. Yeah, 7 titles. In comparison to the above, might need to try harder.

MOTOGP » Valentino Rossi lashes out after Qatar nightmare

Rossi should have retired after his last World Chamionship. Retired on top. His aim to match Agostini was a dream, particularly when Ago only get there by being on far and away the best bike after the factory pull out, a MV Agusta with Titanium frame against a field of second/third rate bikes. Ago was only beaten when good riders got the same bike. Sound familiar? Rossi enjoyed a level of superiority, best bike, hand made tyres just for him. MotoGP has never been so competitive. Casey & Jorge have moved to a new level.

The only true test is the stop watch, and to compare like with like. Stoner got off the Ducati, Rossi hopped on the next day. Rossi no where...
