I think the marshals have made the right call. That gravel trap is at the bottom of the hill, high speed. Just look how far Casey's bike slid. That said, at the end of the year, no matter who wins, Jorge and Casey will have both had a fair shot.

Aftermarket ECUs (like PI, Motec etc.) already can handle from singles to 12 cylinders (both 2 and 4 stroke). There is a just a sync pulse from crank rotation, this gives position and speed, then the injection/ignition is just mapped to this. Simple.

There should be a formal Yellow and Red card system that carries on for 2 seasons or 36 races. By this suggestion, Bautista would be on a Yellow card for his Valencia 2011 start crash. This would be his second, so now a Red card, back of the grid.

Fabian Foret has never brake tested someone? Or has he? That said, Sofuoglu should take his comedy act elsewhere. It is obvious the rule makers are incapable of ruling the sport in either SBK or MotoGP. If you have 3 laps to serve the penalty, then it should auto revert to a ride through.
