"...Yamaha uses an Inline layout (with a 'big bang' firing order) ..." It does? No. Yamaha M1 uses a LONG BANG firing order. Big Bang was ONLY a V4 NSR-500 that fired all 4 cylinders in about 70degrees of crank rotation.

I like how an article about Stoner's Qualifying Session at the 2012 Monster French GP, where he qualified 2nd, bested by a great lap by Dani Pedrosa (well done). Where Stoner had topped the sheets all weekend and just got his final run baulked by a CRT. He didn't express displeasure, just that he tried to create a clear gap and caught up to the CRT at the wrong moment. Oh well. Telling it like it is. Not sure where the angst came for 99% of the other comments. Good idea to keep it focused.

"disbelief the AB honda is not factory spec at all and yet the yams from tech 3 start the season with factory spec but then slowly get the updates which is why most season they fade as the season goes on" @kiwibob The Yams are NOT the same spec as the factory team. Cal said they are a behind on most items, most importantly the brakes.

What a choice. He gets to go out on top, in full health and a winner. He can leave a legacy like Kenny Roberts and Freddie Spencer did, that can't be questioned. He doesn't race for statistics, he races for the enjoyment and has been racing since he was 4 years old, on GP bikes since 14 years old. Well done Casey.

"Haslam tried a CRT already, the NSR500V was basically a production based machine" @Sasha Pray tell, which production machine was the NSR500V based on? Not sure I've seen too many 500cc 2 stroke machines for some time... NSR500V's were HRC prototypes that were sold to customers.

Max on the Aprilia is wheels-in-line, 250cc, rock solid (just the way he likes it). He is scary smooth as is the Aprilia.

Since when did riders have to dress in chicken suits and take a leak in a portaloo to be popular? Casey is interesting off the track. He loves fishing. I love fishing. He's been on TV fishing shows in Australia. Personally, I don't care what he's like off track. I'm not sure Doohan, Lawson, Rainey were particularly exciting off track, but I'm here to watch the RACING not the circus.

Questions for Phil Baker, 1. What relevance does positional based info have to general motorcycle development? It should be banned. Only gyros/accelerometers should be allowed. 2. Why don't MotoGP/2/3 bikes have starter motors? It is an excellent improvement in WSBK (more bikes racing after crashes). Even MX bikes have starter motors.

Yes, the WSBK round at Donnington was a ding dong battle and great racing. But then I really enjoyed MotoGP at Jerez, a game of chess, a master class of consistency from the two greatest riders of the last few years. Is that the difference? Swiss Watch precision of Jeweled machines vs. the raw, knuckle dragging thuggery of modified roadbikes....

Wow. Fourth. Something to aspire to .... however, Checa, Smrz, Melandri, Haslam, Laverty were all out and would usually be in front of him. It is probably a great bike, lacking in the Yoshi engine, but nothing that Jake and Les can't influence. Suzuki does well with good riders. Hint, Hint.
