Melandri ran wide and had no part to play in this apart from being taken out as an innocent 3rd party. Haslam left a gap open, just like he did on many other corners thru the race. It was a sizeable gap. Rea parked it into the gap, Haslam turned in on him and went down. A hard pass by Rea however Haslam left a sizeable gap on the corner that everyone sets up for a last lap pass. It is not surprising what Rea did. Hard, but it is racing not netball.

Everyone wanted 1000's, we got them and now wished we didn't. What to do to promote overtaking? Notice that the 2x exciting classes, Moto2 & Moto3 run on Dunlop tyres. The Bridgestone tyres have been a failure for the 'show'. We need rules and tyres that allow variation in braking, corner lines and acceleration. Get rid of carbon brakes, get rid of Bridgestone, make throttles connect to the butterflies with a cable.

Have a look at the Analysis of laps at MotoGP, for 27 out of 28 laps, Stoner did a 1min37, every single flying lap ! There is a level of professionalism and consistency that we haven't seen before. The standard is just so high.

This is an odd problem and I believe there is an Italian to English translation 'error'. Transponder could mean Transducer (or sensor). Modern ECUs look at the datalog traces to work out where on the track they are (a way around GPS, Gyros, Transponders). They use pattern recognition of the various traces, throttle, brake etc.

Ben Spies has been given what is arguably the best bike in the field (2011 & 2012). Only Stoner is better than the M1. Ben is riding like Cal Crutchlow did in 2011. Yamaha should be giving Cal and maybe Dovi a factory bike.

A great race. I watched Stoner beat the only competition out there, an ill handling Honda RC213V. Stoner beat the chatter into submission and do EVERY flying lap in the 1m 37s !

I wonder if Ben finally got the same spec bike as Jorge? Cal said his bike is behind on brakes, frame and several specs on engine. Brakes being the biggest deficient.
