I sincerely hope that Ross Brawn receives at least an equal share of the accolades, Ross is a genius in the truest sense and well deserving of a knighthood. I cannot decide if he excels more at strategical planning than he does as an engineer...he is a reminder of the glory years when England produced the greatest engineers in the world, he is an inspiration to any budding engineer.

Let me throw a question into the debate....not my opinion just a question I favour no particular rider...i'm just interested in others opinions on...How did Camier/Ellison do so well at the start of 09 on r1's, (delivered only to them days before the first race) with near stock engine internals when, even by the end of the season Rob Mac's team couldn't bag a decent result?

The best way to reduce costs is to dump Dorna...simple. Dorna are the only concern involved who are still making masses of money. Dorna have become excessively greedy and are banking nearly all the profits rather than directing them (via entry and prize money) to teams. I yearn for fuller grids with, more spectacular riding. TV companies must start giving more 'air' time to riders further down the pack, it is boring just watching the leaders follow each other. We miss a lot of the interesting racing. Also more 'equal' coverage would bring more (vital) sponsorship funds to the teams unable, at present to compete at the front.....or am I just dreaming? Ban electronic rider aids!!! Rant over

My last comment on this topic....Shakey is a phenomenal racer, as are most riders in international racing (including Haslam), I struggle to understand how keyboard warriors have the audacity to pass negative comments on their abilities! For the benefit of dice... :) :p :-o   :D :?

Dice, "Furthermore, the year he won as a wild-card he was on a F model bike while most others were on RS models. " In 2003 (the year that he won at Brands WSB) Shakey was riding the very bike that Steve Hislop rode the year before and Neil Hodgson rode the year before that for GSE!

You are clearly confused/stoned, I never called you a liar or, used smiley faces.....which suggests, what is after all fairly obvious...that you seem to have a problem with the truth. I also notice you never questioned my post correcting your claim that Shakey was on superior machinery when he won at Brands in 2003....pity as my source is a little bit more reliable than a press office. Here's a clue:ISBN 0-00-715640-5 HIZZY-Steve Hislop.

Dice are you a journalist as you seem to be inferring?.....Just that your use of the English language is abysmal! Correct grammar is something I would've thought was essential in 'your' trade? Notice you don't offer any 'facts' in your last post, is it getting close to your bedtime yet? Does Mummy know that you are still up?

"FACT ... you're talking cr@p & trying to pass excuses off as facts. The team tested & ran RS machinery, same as other privateer Ducati teams, so please dont claim any different. Shakey also had access to more spares & budget than other privateer Ducati's." Dice, Max Biaggi rode an F08 for the Sterigarda team in 2008, this is the machine that Shakey rode at the pre season test at Portimao last year, again staged the day after WSB weekend. Max's bike was an F08, I was informed by the JHP/Ducati Coventry team who saw it whilst collecting theirs. He did not ride that bike though, this season.

Gachet....the comment that Leon Camier made about Shakey being able to win races in WSB on decent equipment was made recently.....after the '09 BSB season finished not, last year whilst he was Shane's team mate. Reckon he knows a bit more about Superbike racing than you or dice!
