F1 » Massa: Only 'crazy job' will deny Vettel

You have to like Massa, he is one of the few gentlemen left in F1. He manages to make comments without disparaging any other drivers or teams. I'm afraid his career is in shambles since the accident, but he does see things pretty clearly in F1. I'd like to see him in an RBR just to see if the problem is him or Ferrari. I'm betting he would be competitive on a team where the finishing positions of their drivers weren't decided before the race. IMHO Dave

F1 » Hamilton, Alonso 'head and shoulders' above rest

I'm just not sure about some of you guys. Two weeks ago Hamilton was a brat who needed to learn how to drive on a track while there were other drivers out there and now he's a head and shoulders above the rest. He's pretty talented I'll admit but the jury is still out on that walking on water. Is Watson coming out with a book or something that he needed a little news time ?

F1 » McLaren hope to gain half-a-second in qualifying from diffuser ban

@rob 01, I think the point is that the blown diffuser is not some new innovation that RBR came up with at Barcelona, it's that after throwing all the money at it they could afford, several teams decided they couldn't match RBR's performance and sought relief through rule changes/clarification. If they had sought clarification before deciding they couldn't make it work, or better yet before trying it, I would be a lot more inclined to be sympathetic to their cause. Of course the funny side is that they are all admitting that their tech groups are not as smart as Newey. I can't wait to see what's next.

F1 » Possible lifeline for V8 engines

I really don't understand this fascination/obsession/mania to be green or "Relevant". F1 is theoretically the pinnacle of motor sport, and yet the FIA seems hell bent on turning it into a cart race. They seem like their working towards open wheel Toyota Prius's. I, like most race fans like the spectacle, the noise, and the element of danger in car and driver running at the limit. Their pulling the claws out of the tiger. I still maintain that the FIA should be only able to specify safety and dimensions, leave the rest to the designers and engineers.

F1 » Ferrari backs Ecclestone's engine objections

What they need to do is specify a maximum displacement and a maximum amount of fuel allowed per race. Let the manufacturers design an engine to be competitive under those specs. The manufacturers are in a better position to determine the best fit with follow on tech. The problem with F1 is the FIA they are the worst thing for innovation and competitiveness. Do you remember when there were cars in F1 that didn't look the same? I miss the ELF 6 wheeler, It wasn't the best car ever but, they had the nerve to try something different. The way FIA regulates the design of cars they may as well order a boatload of Honda engines and some chassis from Delara and then they can be as lackluster as Indy (I guess they could pick their own paint scheme).
