F1 » Brawn: Red Bull's rivals missed a trick

@Realfan 10 Reality check - It is impossible to make a part that does not flex. The RB wing passes the spec. McLearan's wing flexes too just not in the same way. It doesn't matter what the spec is as long as everybody is under the same requirement then it is fair. The object of F1 racing is to build the fastest car you can under the rules as given. Everybody used to complain about Ferrari because they were the fastest now it's Red Bull. The problem is not RB's car it's those who can't figure out the best implementation of the rules FIA hands down. As a personal note: I think the FIA rules should specify Wheelbase, Track width, Engine displacement, and minimum safety standards. Everything else should be left to the designers. Let them race on the track, not in the inspection station.

F1 » Pirelli: Tyre degradation 'an opportunity, not a problem'

Pit stops are a part of the race (now days), there can, however, be too much of a good thing. Races should be won on the track, but not in a drag race to the first corner. Pirelli could build tires that last any distance that the FIA directs, if they so choose. So the real question is how many pit stops do you want? I think that two per race should be about right. I also think that the tire supplier should not be the one to determine which two compounds are available for each race. There should be at least three and probably four compounds available to the teams and they should be the ones to decide which to use. I am in favor of requiring them to use more than one compound, just to spice things up.

F1 » Ferrari in new push for three car teams

They Should go Ferrari one better and institute satellite teams similar to MotoGP There would up to four cars per manufacturer all of them competitive. Call them development teams if you like. And don't count the points from the satellite teams toward the Manufacturers title, simple enough. It would be nice if there were a dozen manufacturers, each entering their own cars, stem to stern, but that's not going to happen soon, so there must be change. If F1 doesn't do something it will continue to spiral down into irrelevance and obscurity. First thing they need to do is fire Bernie and hire Dorna.

F1 » Hamilton hit with 'hoon' fine

I can't tell you how many of you are off your rocker. 1) Hamilton was screwing around in his car (illegal in most civilized countries). 2) He got caught (stupid on his part). 3) He was given a fine for his actions. So what's the problem, happens every day even to world famous bone heads like Hamilton.

F1 » New front wing tests for Spa – but will they halt RBR?

When a body, be it the FIA or a corporation wants something built a specific way they provide a specification. The spec provides the reason and the test which must be passed. The manufacturer then puts his engineers to work to design a product that does what the ruling body asked for if the product meets the specification, the ruling body has nothing to complain about and the other manufacturers whose engineers are not as astute and were unable to build a better part have nothing to say. And anyone who doesn't think that RBR's car will not pass at SPA and still have better aerodynamics than the rest is kidding themselves, especially with 3 week of off time.
