I agree with King Kenny in the sense that factories also should shoulder the blame for ruining MotoGP as well, not just Dorna. Remember in the early 90s where there are specialist chassis constructors compete against the factories using the same engine as them? Apparently Dorna wants to go to that path again, mimicking F1 in many ways. Remember Moriwaki MD211V and KR211/212V? This is the way to go but apparently factories does not like the prospect of being beaten by small constructors using the same engine as their factory team. They can take accept such prospect in the smaller class (Moto3), but not in MotoGP where prestige is everything. How do Honda feel if say, FTR or Suter, can build a sweeter, more precise chassis for their RC213V engine compared to their own chassis? CRT, someway or another, is created to pressure them so that they will follow that path albeit reluctantly. MotoGP should remain all-prototype racing, but I want the factories to be considerate enough to open up

@ shamarone i got your point. but instead of evenly spacing the firing interval like those V8 American Muscle Cars, the idea here is to have two cylinders firing together at the same time, making it something like a V8 mimicking a V4 or inline-4 with crossplane crankshaft with irregular firing pattern overall. thus making it like a bigger bigbang motoGP engine. in order to give better tyre life and traction, i believe this is what F1 needs right now.

@ Don-R switching the chassis does not necessarily means an instant upturn in performance. while many may argue that the performance of Redding has noticeably improved since the switch from Suter to Kalex, bear in mind that Redding have miles of pre-season testing under his belt with Kalex while Rea have the Suter in mid-season with no testing at all - means they are starting fresh from zero. it would not help him either should no other Suter teams assist them in setting up the bike.

in-season testing should stay, but the implementation needs to change. why don't simply give each team a number of days allowed for in-season testing, at the circuit of their own choice (private test track included)? should they want to test more after their allocation day was finished, they have to pay compensation to all other teams as a penalty for exceeding their test day quota. this will be a fairer way for all.
