MotoGP » Loris Baz looking for a ride

Everyone is making good points above there are advantages if you are small and light and the current rules drive the kind of decisions that are being made. The thing that bothers me is that Aspar was ready to sign Baz based on results, and recommendation from poeple who he respects and trusts. This only changed when he found out how tall he was. One of the things that I love about bike racing is that it does not discriminate (gender, race, religion etc) and that everyone gets the same treatment if they want to have a go. Are we in danger of this changing?

This 'you are too tall for Motogp' is the beginning of a dangerous route. I agree that the smaller riders have an advantage but to rule a rider out point blank because of height is just wrong. The only thing that should matter is what the stopwatch reads as they cross the line. Will you get to a point where the Redbull rookies selection process automatically reject the taller kids even before they get on a bike?

BSB » Ian Hutchinson exits FFX Yamaha

SMR were very loyal to him throughout his time out with the terrible leg injury and stuck by him when most thought he would never race again. Ian has performed near miracles to make it back on the track but it would seem that getting back to the front in both short circuits and the roads is just a step too far. Very sad all round and I hope the Ian is happy and sucessful as whatever he chooses to do next.

F1 » Parabolica gravel trap replaced at Monza

OK an interesting thought. If you run on the new tarmac before starting a quali lap to get a faster speed over the line the current rules would suggest you get the 'out' lap deleted rather then the lap you are setting up to start. A rule change will be needed to stop that. I am mostly a bike fan and the thought of a corner that fast without gravel fears me with horror for the bikes.
