He said the same type of things before the SBK season. I would be willing to wager that he fights inside the top five in at least half of the races in 2010. He has already ridden in this class and did better than half of the field in two of three races and on a bike many say was not competitive. I think it just needs the correct pilot and the guy that let spies get away from Suzuki should have been fired on the spot.

Sounds to me like Honda are making way for Stoner in 2011!

As a race fan I believe that Spies has shown that he is the best rider in WSB. 13 wins in 26 races of your rookie season where you have not ridden or seen most of the tracks. Championship or not he has been the benchmark or target all season long.

Regarding the no rookie on a factory team - a comapny should be able to hire who they want to ride their machine. Rules and guidlines are fine but telling companies who they can hire is out of line.

I am thinking that Mladin is part of the reason he is going. I had read that Mladin told the younger guys to go and try it as soon as they can. If that is your goal then go after it as soon as possible, don't spend three years chasing him around the U.S. tracks.
