It appears F2 cars do have wheel tethers, and comply with the 2005 F1 safety regs. So this definitely could have happened in F1. This has nothing to do with the F2 cars themselves.

Hamilton did two years in each category he competed inb until the oddity of GP2 when he nailed it in his first year. His first year in Frenault and F3 euroseries weren't spectacular, sure he did well and had flashes of brilliance. Hartley demonstrated flashes of brilliance last year in BF3 alongside a very competitive field. He will learn a lot from this very intense year and take it all onboard for next year. I hope Red bull let him consolidate next year with a serious drive in only euroF3 or they commit him to a solid 2 years in GP2, with the 1st year as a def learning year. It will be good for F1 if he makes it. Having 5 germans on the grid is a bit ridiculous, they aren't all sensational

RIP henry! Condolences to his family. Yes motorsport is dangerous. This accident just shows it is, could have happened in F1 just as easily, even with wheel tethers. Agreed wheel tethers should be present in all forms of open wheeler and prototype racing! Every little helps. The williams link is a coincidence and only that, it was one of the first things that crossed my mind. Most importantly though... RIP

What i want to know is how can the fans stop these two muppets from trashing the wonderful sport they have created. All good things come to an end, but probably only because the same person is doing it, they need to let someone else pick up the ball and run with it in their own way, that way F1 will change and evolve for the better. Instead of being changed with their stupid ideas simply cos they have ran out of good ones. Time to retire old men.

definately think ferrari should ditch the stupid stickers on the wheel covers/brake ducts. other than that i think its a crackign looking machine. Love the frontal CG shot, imagine that screaming up behind ya just after its had its KERS boost activated. shivers down me spine i tell yee. rear wings will take some getting used too but they are already starting to rub off on me. will love them if they produce heaps of overtaking.
