Cardinal I kind of agree with you there.. At this point it makes the most sense as I can't see anyone (except Pirreli buying the series as they have in the past) being able to cope with the demand for supplying F1 teams. Who else out there has the logistical and financial clout to do this? The ones that could have turned their back on the sport for various reason.. Kuhmo, Hankook, Dunlop, Continental? maybe... Why not all of them!

Robsy! That's one of the best comments i've seen for a long time! What happens if Honda / Suzuka don't want the GP every year? Do we then go to another Herman Ti(T)lke circuit, with no crowds, atmosphere? Just because Bernie get's his money? The teams complain about not being able to sustain F1 what about the circuits? When will they start to threaten F1 / FIA!

Yes it's become a bit of a joke!! Oh and as for what DR can do, I wouldn't hold my breath! He failed to resurect one of the most iconic rally brands to the top step in recent years... Must be a big sigh of releif from the Prodrive race team.. No much work after Lemans, I feel a lot of them would have been on the same dirty chopping block as I and 180 others faced with demise of SWRT!!

"unknown" thanks for you short sighted comments about immigrants. I'll have you know that without such people be it from the US, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand motorsport in the UK would be in a pretty poor state, worse than it already is! Money is sucked out of the sport at an alarming rate by some greedy people that run it! Most of them are British! I'd like to see Bernie put his own money into saving the british GP not asking the government for support! As a foreign worker and a tax payer i'm not able to claim any benifits and yes i'm one of the lucky ones to work in this industry! I'd rather see my hard earned go into the pockets of people who need it most rather than Bernie!

I think DR should worry about saving what's left of his organisation before going into F1... At the rate he's going there will be nothing left of Prodrive or his beloved Aston Martin Racing!

I have to agree with Hawth! Matthew Wilson and Malcom need to step up or step aside... This is supposed to be his 4th year of a 4 year plan and still the results aren't there! Petter did drive well, for a car that started out life back in 2001/2002! Yes it's an old active car! Active cars are much easier to get to grips with straight away, than the current cars! Although I feel he will struggle as the year goes on! IF he was in a subaru would he have been any further up the field! Yes I think he would have been! If Marcus had made a return for Subaru, he'd have been fighting for the win! Sadly we'll never know!

We all know the best touring car series is Australian V8's... Or even NASCAR! (if you call them touring Cars) Why they don't make the rules as such that there's no advantage to be gained from year to year with building expensive new cars?? Other catagories seem to manage this! They like having star names, ex F1 Drivers, young kids with loads of talent! Does this make it the best series in the world or the best paid!?!?

Matt Wilson will never be a top driver. Yes he's consitent but isn't quick enough! He's the right car and right equipment, just not on the pace of the likes of Loeb, or Hirvonen! He's had 4 years in the best equipment and still hasn't got close on pace! Matt should be in the BRC or Irish Tarmac championship then we might all stop bashing him for wasting a drive as he'd at least then stand a chance of winning something! Wilks, Meeke,Aigner, Prokop, PG even McShea etc have a better chance of winning or at least matching the pace of the top runners! Malcom should save some money and put him elsewhere!

Well I can honestly say his performance wasn't any better in a Citroen than in a Subaru! Silly mistakes, got away with a big one which should have been game over! Is a star? No! Was the Subaru that bad or was it a combination of drivers and management?
