F1 » Caterham F1 makes 230 staff redundant

TheVimtoMoustache......thank you for one of the few positive suggestions around this whole sorry state. As posters on here will know, I have always championed the small teams for their diversity and bulldog spirit, and I still find it sad when any team folds and two in one season is a disaster. Don't forget that when we are left with only big manufacturers then there is no-one left to come last in the race but a big name. This is a function of the small teams that is too often overlooked......Big Names and Big Sponsors do not like being last and like Toyota and Porsche they will pull out of F1.

F1 » Caterham F1 will race in Abu Dhabi

Richard and Sunny, I've never really understood why you both have such a down on small teams. Yes, they will never be challenging for the lead, and yes if manufacturers are allocating engines then they certainly won't be giving them their best engines, but I would like to see large grids of up to 30 cars because this develops races within races. Also, it gives fans more variation of teams to support. I don't want to see 4 or 5 teams of 3 cars I've said before that back in the 60's I used to love watching Godin de Beaufort in his out classed orange F1 Porsche always at the back, but ALWAYS getting the biggest cheer from the crowd. Remember that McLaren and Williams used to be small
