F1 » Liuzzi: Pirelli needs praise for tyres

Sunny and Richard, I so agree with both of you. Wouldn't it be good if the FIA nominated two or three races per year (drawn randomly) where the tyres MUST last the whole race with no pitsop (apart from damage/punctures) Then we would see a true comparison between the drivers. I still have a few Firestone YB11's in the workshop - any takers!!

F1 » FIA backs Bahrain to stage GP

No such problems at the Dubai Grand Prix of 1981 hosted by HRH Sheikh Bin Said Al Maktoum. Ok there wasn't actually a GP car there, but the main race was won by 18stone Gerry Marshall in a Lola t70,(Big G also did cartwheels at the prize giving ball, and Innes Ireland wore his kilt!) There was a 917, M1B Ferrari P4,David Pipers 250LM Stirling, Derek Bell Dan Gurney, Nick Mason etc etc. Ah, those were the days.

MotoGP » Valentino Rossi lashes out after Qatar nightmare

Ducati are a relatively small company compared to the Jap motorcycle manufacturers, who make anything from earth-movers to musical instruments. Ducatis budget and tech. resources could never match the Japs. Until now....Because if Audi do buy into Ducati then all Audis fantastic race experience and VW group resources will be made available, if they decide to continue in MotoGP, and that will please VR.
