F1 » Ecclestone to decide between Pirelli and Michelin

107SS2009: Ecclestone, "Michelin wants to make a rock-hard tyre you could put on in January ant take off in December because they don't want to be criticised".
Well sunny, I'm almost with Michelin on that!! We've been down the pitstop route to artificially decide Grand Prix results, now how about trying the pure racing route with its obvious cost savings? Just to expand slightly, I have never seen how it could be in a tyre manfrs. interest to agree to supply tyres some of which will only last 50miles, and I think a set of tyres to last one GP would benefit everyone.

F1 » What we learned at the Hungarian Grand Prix

Lewis4Jen: What I learnt that Lewis over one lap is the fastest driver ever to get into a F1 car something Jenson Button has gone on record of saying.
"the fastest driver EVER to get into a F1 car!!!" Mate, you need to do some serious homework. Lewis may be pretty good with all the backup, the tyre choices, the gadgets on the steering wheel, people on computers monitoring his every move, the data analysis etc etc that is available now, but put lewis in a Mercedes Benz 1957 vintage with no seatbelts, no fireproofs, open face helmet, get him to do a GP of 311miles around the Nurburgring, oh, and break the lap record 9times!! Then we will see!

MotoGP » Top ‘satellite’ Smith consolidates fifth overall

Don-R:
JG94: Maybe there are negotiations but Smith is negotiating after more money or better equipment
I think there's been an agreement in principle for a while, but it's the terms that are causing the delay. So yes, could partly be a money thing.
I'm not so sure, Bradley never seems to be a money driven bloke to me, so I wouldn't be surprised if he is holding out for more factory support guarantees from Yamaha especially after the recent 8Hrs win.

F1 » McLaren land 55 grid position penalties

Tomco: Its noticeable by the number of comments left on any of the F1 topics. Far far fewer than even a couple of years ago - Unless of course the topic is Hamiltons latest set of earrings. F1 has become a boring joke and we dont even get full live coverage any more unless we pay for it. What a sad state of affairs.
Tomco....sadly, for F1, the decline of F1 posts (not just here on CRASH) is matched by the increase in posts for MotoGP.

F1 » What we learned at the Hungarian Grand Prix

Of course JB (whom I like) would have no axe to grind whilst he is being beaten by Lewis would he? It's obviously in Jenson's interest to big up Lewis and he would hardly say that Lewis was not the very best now would he? Remember that Fangio was 47 when he won his 5th world championship! Ermm....just remind me how old JB is...still time I suppose. Also, I do not put Lewis in front of many of the other greats, Michael Schumacher, Nicki Lauda, Ayrton Senna and of course the fantastically versatile (saloons, can-am, Indy, F2 and F1) World Champion Jimmy Clark, who often drove several different classes on GP day. Sorry mate, Lewis still has a long way to go in my book.

F1 » German GP survival hinges on 2016 ‘full house’

Lets hope the German fans follow the British fans turnout, but still we have to acknowledge that people are generally not happy with the current formula. The Austrian GP attendance figures give some indication of the lack of interest. Although Richard said it was a sellout, unfortunately he was way off the mark. Capacity: 90,000, 2015 actual: 55,000, and this was down from 2014.
