MotoGP » Casey Stoner receives Queen's Birthday Honour

After getting her Personal secretary to check out the history of motorcycle racing HRH decides to send for Murray Walker. Conversation between HRH and Murray. HRH Mr Walker We have been told that you are quite an expert on the history of motorcycle racing. MW Well ma'am I have followed it since I was a child my father used to race. HRH And did he ride a British motorcycle. MW yes he did ma'am before WW2 British bikes were the best. HRH And the best British bike was? MW The most successful bike was Norton ma'am they dropped out of racing in the early 50s but sold racing bikes up to the early 70s. HRH Are they still in business? MW The last I heard only just they were making rotary engines very fast, but the bike was a beast, hard to ride. HRH Like the Ducati. MW Your Majesty is well informed. HRH Does the name Casey Stoner mean anything to you. MW Why yes ma'am he can ride the unrideable. HRH Thank you for your insight Mr Walker. HRH calls PS ge

MotoGP » Casey Stoner receives Queen's Birthday Honour

A conversation between HRH and her personal adviser. PA Your majesty I believe a young AUStralian called Casey Stoner really deserves a gong for his services to sport. HRH And what sport would that be. PA motorcycle racing ma'am, he won two WCs. HRH ONLY two we've had British racers who won more WCs than that who received nothing. PA That's correct ma'am but he won a WC on a DUCATI. HRH What is so special about that. PA The reason ma'am is no one else can ride the beast. For two years they had an Italian chap called Rossi on it A former NINE times WC and they paid him a fortune. HRH And tell me how did he do. PA Well ma'am he did get a second and a third, Casey in his 4 year tenure got 23 wins and many podiums, ma'am I believe had Rossi got half of those wins he would have received a Papal knighthood. HRH The Ducati is that hard to ride. PA It is ma'am it's a proper beast. HRH Perhaps we should give him another gong, for bravery above and beyond the call of duty. lol.

MotoGP » Mugello: Dovizioso excited by home challenge

Hi AUS. Yea man I've been going to youtube a lot recently and the're a lot of videos of Mike on the Ducati, I personally never saw him on the Ducati but I did see him on just about everything else Nortons, MVs Hondas and other lightweight machines I doubt there is anyone in the history of racing who rode so many different bikes many of them very very uncompetitive, he still done well on them considering unlike some who can only win on the very best. Cheers mate.

RR » TT 2013: 'No pressure' on Brookes to break records

@gremlin. what you posted was soooo true, and may I add if what he said was true it would mean a lot of the greats of GP racing were useless as most of the racing years ago were held on roads. For the ill informed names like Duke Surtees Hailwood just to name a few some of the greatest racers of all time of which I had the great pleasure of seeing racing at the UGP.
